Alarm sensor upgrade

I looked in owner manual online and it looks like this option just adds flashing lights and horns for a breakin. Does it add any protection other than this? For the 2006 model, the advanced key thing is supposed to provide immobilizing for the vehicle. Seems like the upgrade might mostly end up being an annoyance.

the sensor is just a shock sensor.. if you car moves or gets hit it's the same and hitting the panic button on the remote. The fuel/ignition cutoff is done with the security chip in the key.

If someone is gonna steal your car 9/10 times they are gonna use a flatbed, unless it's a smash and grab.
