I have a question, possibly a stupid one but I know all my rx8 buddies will help me. Just like I help you all!

When I lock my car, my flasher lights (hazards) do not flash any more and also when opening my car they dont flash either. They used to to this and it would confirm to me that my car was locked/opened.

Any idea's why they have stopped flashing? have I pressed or done something wrong?

champion- i fixed the problem. I feel stupid for the source of the problem was - my trunk wasn't closed properly and therefore when i locked my car, my indicators wouldnt flash.

actually if your trunk is not fully closed, it should give a 6-beep warning instead of the regular single beep confirmation lock/secured. That always indicate one of the doors are not closed. In fact it even works with your hood too.

 

Hi, when i lock my car the lights do not flash and never have, I have checked the boot and all is closed, i even took out the boot switch and touched the two wires together so they make contact, and no joy i noticed the bonnet had no switch there so i checked the wire going to the bonnet and looped it so i now have continuity but still no flash, i'm in the uk in london, spoke to the dealer and they said some cars flash and some cars don't hmmm which got me thinking there lying, any suggestions? the doors are all close and they all work if the doors are open you see the indicator on the dash, i also checked the cable to the flasher unit and all is well.

 

alarm goes off when my wife is at work but not at home any idea,s on why she look,s her car 2004 rx8 and every day it dose this but not at home

 

I have 04 rx8 that won,t idle when warmed up so I replaced the maf and when doing so found out the O- Ring was broke so all that are having this prob might want to check this out
