Ahhh Help!!

Ok. So if anyone remembers, about 3 weeks ago, i posted about my flashing CEL light problem. So I got new spark plugs and wires first. The dealer took care of that. They reset the light and after the car mis-firing again 3 times the light came back on and stayed on.

So just now I just put on 4 new coils hoping that would completely fix my problem. I reset the CEL light by unplugging the battery. (Which also took off my Traction Control, how do i fix that?) So after changing the coils, I took my car for a test drive. It drives A LOT better, it actually uses third gear now and doesn't misfire going to fourth. It also idles a lot smoother. And I feel the extra torque and power. However, when I was on a long stretch and got on it, it reved really high in 2nd gear (my car is an AT) before shifting into 3rd. After it shifted the CEL light started flashing for about 45 seconds, then came off. So I have nooo idea wtf is wrong now.

help !!

to fix the TCS start the car and turn the wheel all the way to the right and then all the way to the left. And mis fires at high RPM are common

GREG985 is correct about the TCS as for the blinking light b sure the wires are correct..(since it was running fine at normal driving I'm sure they are but make sure they are tight) if it went away just keep an eye on it for now and if it happens again have the code read and should b misfire if it blink but it is possible it's just a misfire becasue sometimes these cars do that at hight RPM...

personally if u ask me the High rpms I think that the coils can's "recharge" fast enough to make a complete full spark and make the flame front roll across the whole chamber.....but tht's just me!

That's what I was hoping! Thanks guys! But hey, more frikken good news,!!

So I drove my car to school this morning, driving amazing, everything is going well, and then start it after school, still driving amazing. So I drove to get gas. After filling up I went to start my car and it cranked, started then immediately shut itself off. And the check engine light and battery light came on. So I tried starting it again but this time revved it right when i started. The car revved and started but the second I stopped revving, it shut off again. So I just gave up because I didn't want to flood the car. So now my car is chillin at an ARCO station and I have no idea whats wrong with it.

My friend said it may be something about re-installing the air filter wrong last night. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Thanks so much for all the help

Well, if they installed the filter in a way that would PREVENT the car from getting air, that could cause some problems...

There has to be something else causing the issue, I'd imagine.

Me and my dad did the coil change. First time. So i'm assuming we re-installed the filter wrong somehow. Or at least that's what I'm hoping. I really hope it's not something else. :/

Take it out and give it a shot and see what happens. If you just take it out and start the car, that will tell you if it's the filter or not.

yes if airflow is blocked then it will not start....I think the coils are hooked up right but may have a loose wire somewhere that it's fine sometimes then after driving and hitting some bumps it messes up.....check wires at coils and plugs the should "snaP" when u put them on!

ARCO gas sucks! Use something like Chevron or Shell.

Yup Shell is dam good. Did you check your battery? Some guy on here had the same issue and had his car towed. Everyone thought it was a fuse but I read that and was like on snap! its his battery and well it was lol
So check that battery out at autozone

Went back, pushed in the spark plugs wires a little more. Made sure everything was tight. Car started right up. So weird. Haha. Thanks for all the help guys. And the ARCO is like 10 cents cheaper, ALWAYS. so it's hard to say no haha

When you pushed on the plug wires, did you hear or feel a little snap?
Did you do both ends.....at the plugs and coils? If not, go give it another look/try.
