A small section of paint on the inside of the driver's side door is coming off. At first, I thought it was a little scrap of paper stuck to the paint. I tried rubbing it off with my fingernail, and I realized the paint was coming off! If you look on the inside of the door next to window, you'll see there's a raised verticle line on the surface of the paint running parallel to the window. Almost the exact center of that line is where the paint is coming off. Here's the scary thing: I checked the passenger side door just for the hell of it, and it feels like the same thing is about to happen. The paint feels dried out and papery.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this covered by warranty?

 

This happened on my old 91 accord. At the time, my warranty was up, so I just went over it with some touch up paint to prevent it from spreading...worked like a charm.

 

This happened to me in a small spot on that strip that seperates the door frame and the roof of the vehicle that runs the length of the car. I dont know what to do with it except paint over it with touch up paint? If its covered under warranty though I'll have the dealer fix it.

 

Does the paint look like fish scales? If thats the case then yep the same thing happened to me.. except the paint was coming off of my front bumper. I just took it to the dealer and they held my car for like 3 days.. Just take it in and have them look at it. It should be covered under your warranty.

What did your dealer do? Did he repaint the whole bumper? Or just touch it up?

 

No not the whole bumper, they just repainted the area where the paint was coming up.
