86 F250 - 1, 04 Rx8 - 0

So I got PWN3D by an F250 today, my light had turned green and I was launching from a hill so it took a minute to get going (I was the first one stopped at the light), so I had gotten about 2 feet out of the crosswalk when I noticed that the SUV next to me had slammed on her brakes, hmm odd..., then I saw why, this POS F250 had decided he was gonna run the hell out of his red light around 50mph, I slammed on my brakes, he swerved but wound up fish-tailing his side into my front end and the damage ensued. I believe that this will be the end of the 8 as the frame is bent pretty bad, I could barely drive it off the road into a gas station. A moment of silence for the fallen comrade.

I'm ok, I pulled some muscles in my back but I got it all checked out and the Dr. hooked me up with pain killers and muscle relaxants. Now one with the pics.

Its hard to see, but he didn't even hit the brakes, all the skid marks are from when he hit me and spun me about 125 degrees

At least he got a little bit of damage, serves him right ruining my fun little car.

Sorry about your car. So what's your plan? Another 8 or moving on to something else. Hey, I was stationed at Ft. Bliss for a short time. Are you there now?

Wow, that sucks. Sorry to hear that, and glad you're ok. Please tell me you chewed out the idiot in the truck.

Also, when I saw this thread title, I thought it was going to say you lost to a truck on the street. :P

I surprisingly didn't lose my cool like I usually do, I guess I was just so disappointed that I was completely unresponsive, I calmly got out of my car after I pulled off the road and harshly said "you got insurance? Why don't you go get that for me" I was at lunch in uniform and the guy didn't seem to want to argue with me.

Yeah I'm still at Bliss, I hate this place more than ever now.

I think I'm gonna go back to the muscle car world, the 8 was an awesome car but I love that rip your heart out and beat you with it power that V8's have

Holy ****, glad u're ok ! Thats all it matters.

Of course he cant argue. I mean wtf man, all these truck drivers got some sort of problems or something ? They drive like nuts on the road ... I see them all the time.

If I were you, I will freaking sue him till he sleeps on the street. This time he is lucky, but what about next time ? next next time? next next next time ?

Off Topic, Can I buy your wheels if they are not bent ? I need some for Winter tires, yours seems ok (if you can sell it)

It may be possible, I still have to talk with the insurance lady and all that I think the wheels are ok but IDK where my wheel lock key is

What is that, a propane tank in the bed of his truck??? Pretty much exactly where you hit him?? If so then that could've been a horrible way die...

Judging from the look of the truck and his driving skilz, I'm surprised he had insurance.. You lucked out on that..

Might I recommend a last gen Z06. 400hp, can be had for around 25k..

Glad to hear you're okay.

I learned my lesson on the wheel key yesterday. Took my car in to get new tires put on and they said they couldn't do it without the key. Since I bought used I thought I didn't have one. Drove 20 miles to the dealership for them to tell me to look in the trunk. At least I saved $30 on not having to buy a new one.

I was stationed in TX back in the mid 90s. The drivers down there are nuts.

Glad you are ok!

Psssh, this was the dark side for me, I've owned chevys all my life the 8 was an experiment for me. Sorry to disappoint...I think that my old camaro could take the turns better than the 8 could, it actually had the power to get itself out of the hole.

thanks i just think the new wave of life on the highways is going to be large do to the fact no one is really doing enough for the innocent people we share the road with out there and everywhere.back in the real days we had c.b.er's and never this much of not paying attention to the road.it was easy fun and nobody i know got hurt ..maybe a few t.v. and a radio or two but i can live with that.

I'm not saying that it was faster through the turns, but it was faster getting out of them. I had tubular control arms and all that fun stuff. That and I actually fit in one

Thanks, I'm just happy to be alive. Credit definitely goes to the big guy upstairs, had I been another 2 feet out in that intersection I'd probably be dead

Well, I would have liked to have said that it probably wasn't totaled...

But you're thinking of moving on to a muscle car? I'd recommend a C6 Vette over anything else.
