4th gear
4th gear
I have noticed a separation in gear ratios; the first 3 together and the last 3 together.
Fourth gear is clearly a little too tall. I wonder if this was done on purpose to keep us out of trouble. makes it harder to get to 100+ really quickly.
first to second is a 25 mph change, 2nd to third is a 25 mph change, but third to fourth is a 30 mph change, and then about a 26-27 mph change to fifth, and then who cares about sixth because we can't max out in that gear anyway. This rather large jump from 3rd to fourth creates a separation which sorta kills the acceleration over 90 mph. I wonder why Mazda did this?
