Thanks for the information/explanations on the brake fluid thing.....just wanted to be sure it was really one of those things that 'needed' to be done as opposed to 'let's do it just because there are xxxxx miles on the car'.

The plugs are expensive but not that expensive. Although looking at the location of the plugs I would say it's a pain to replace. My bike uses the same plugs. They are iridium tipped NGK spark plugs and they are about 12 to 17 dollars a pop. My bike takes 4 and for some reason they only last a season. ...sigh...

Yes, a lot more vehicles are starting to get iridium plugs.

What I am referring to is the actual design of the plug. From the minimal research I have done, the only vehicle that uses the RE7AL and RE9BT is the RX-8. If 10 different cars used the same plug then I'm sure the plug prices would be around $7 a piece.

Actually the regular ngk sparkplugs work the best but Iridium just last longer.

If spark plug price is the only reason for $600, buy your own and have them do it. $19.95 each in that link.
BTW, therm8, thanks for the link. I had looked for the NGKs before and never found them anywhere but Mazda dealer websites. Good old competition has already lowered the price by almost half.

Has anyone done any business with this web site?

iridium plugs in a normal engine last 100k + miles, in our engines, 35k+ish? (maintenence).. So regular plugs would last like 1 run in our car( if at all)?

There aren't any other plugs available for the RX-8 other than Iridium. OEM mazda plugs are made by NGK I think. ND Denso has plugs available now also for the RX-8. OEM spec and one heat range colder.

Here's a pic of the ND Denso plug.

Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
