308 Miles On My Last Tank

I had to check the trip odometer twice, because I thought I was hallucinating.

308 miles on 60% highway-40% city.

I drove regularly.

I'm shocked.

You've got to be kidding!!!
300+ .... in an 8!?!?!?!
I'd need a 30 gal tank to get anywhere close to that.
I get 140 per tank before my orange light shows its face.

I hate you guys!

Do you have a manual or automatic?

I've noticed I get the best mileage with my 6 speed at highway speeds @ less than 3500rpm.

i used to get 20 plus per gallon, over 300 per tank, but that was when i was driving 50 miles to work, then 50 miles back, each day. now i am 1 mile from work, and get maybe, maybe, 120 per tank. oh well, now i am filling up less than twice every 2 weeks.

That's somewhere near 9 miles per gallon!!!!!

Eyeball gets about 10 miles per gallon!!!

120, 140, 175 - what is up with that. I'm seriously in awe at how awful the mileage is - especially the 120 and 140.

Shouldn't those figures indicate there is a problem at hand, mechanically speaking???

i bet they all do A LOT of short driving with constant startup/shutdown, that kills the gas mileage on this car

only 308 miles? psshhh, couple weeks ago i just did 330 miles, granted the fuel gauge was all the way down to the letter 'E', but i was brave it enough to take it down that low, lol

The low numbers must either be only fill up numbers or they drive short distances revving high.

i notice something with my mpg. after she passed the 10k mark on christmas day i have notice a better mpg. i averaged 14-16 mpg. my average now is 16-18 mpg. i think these rotary engenies get better with mileage. sorry to hear these numbers but if there is nothing mechanical wrong with your car the mpg will get better.. just my $.02

I got 305/tank coming back from TX a couple weeks ago. I was averaging 95-110 mph. That's the best I've gotten on the highway. I tend to get 225 in town.

I got 504 kms (315 miles) on a tank last week. 40% highway, 60% city. I reckon I had 3/4 of a gallon left in the tank. I drove for 45 miles with the low fuel light on. All the freeway driving was done with four on board, aircond on at 65mph.

My mileage seems to have settled out (17,500 miles on my '04 6MT). I get about 18+ mpg on average. My fuel light comes on at about 220 to 230 miles. But it really depends on how I drive. If I'm easy on it, I can hit 20 mpg. If I drive it like a go-kart , it'll go down to 16 mpg. And it doesn't really seem to matter if I use premium fuel or the middle grade. I do drive it easier if I'm running the cheaper fuel.

there is nothing wrong with my vehicle, as i stated in my previous post, i now travel 1 mile to work 5 days a week. no highway travel. with the cold weather, i remote start my car more often to warm it up, plus with the winter formulation, mileage is negatively affected.

Whoa. I know I get 400 KMs per tank - every 100 KMs on the trip-o-meter is a quarter of the tank, bang on, each and every time. The light comes on at 375 KMs, and the bit left over in the tank is exactly 1/8th of the total capacity.

Those numbers most likely reflect their driving style. Either that or they turn the car on and let it run and hardly drive it.

Car has been in the shop a dozen+ times:
R-flash = no help
New Plugs = no help
Running Royal Purple = no help
Premix = no help
87, 90, 91 octane = no help
Granny it = no help
Shift at the beep = no help
Cleaned MAF = no help
First start of the day 5 min. warm-up = no help
First start of the day NO warm-up = no help

What's left?

I run it to the beep everyday and use 91 octane with a bottle of injector cleaner every third tank.

Most of my driving is in-town @ < 40 MPH and I live 3 miles from work.

I'm waiting for the service dept to give me a call and let me know that my motor
mounts are in... I doubt this will affect my wonderful fuel mileage positively
