2nd Allocation Email From Mazda?

Has anyone in the 2nd allocation received their confirmation email from Mazda?

Those in the 1st allocation received theirs about this time last month. I am in the 2nd allocation and was expecting (or hoping) to hear something this week. Nothing yet!

Anyone???

not yet, though i emailed the order customer service about it and they indicated that they do in fact have an order for me, so at least i know that my dealer did their part.

You e-mailed RX-8 orders about your order and they were able to confirm that for you? When exactly did you e-mail them about it and how long did it take them to get back to you?

a couple days ago, only took about a day and a half. I emailed asking if there was a number asigned to the order, for personal tracking reasons, and this is teh response I got.

Thank you for contacting Mazda North American Operations. I appreciate
the opportunity to respond to you.

In regards to your inquiry about order confirmation. Your dealership
will initially confirm that they have placed your order and complete the

necessary paperwork with you.

Once your order is submitted by the Mazda dealership, typically within
30 days of your visit to the dealership, you should receive an e-mail
notification. You will be kept updated at several stages of your RX-8
order through a series of e-mail notifications. (IMPORTANT! Please
make sure when placing your order that the dealership has your correct
name and e-mail address. If this is not done, e-mail notifications can
not be automatically sent. The ordering dealer must be the party to
enter your e-mail address into the order, this office can not marry
your address for confirmations. Please contact your dealership to
confirm that this has been done.) Each of these updates will mean
you're one step closer to being behind the wheel!

Thank you and congratulations on your decision to order the brand new
Mazda RX-8! Our systems do show that you have placed an RX-8 order with
University Mazda.

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda. It has been my pleasure to
assist you. If for any reason this response has not completely
satisfied you, please feel free to reply to this message. You may also
contact our Customer Assistance Center toll-free at 1-800-222-5500.

Please take a moment of your time to give us your opinion about our
e-mail service. Click the link below to complete a brief, online
survey.

I got the same response. They basically are saying wait for the e-mails and keep in touch with your dealer. RX8orders didn't confirm anything for me.

I haven't gotten one either, so maybe they just haven't sent them- my dealer swore up and down that he got my email into the system- I had to sic Mazda customer service on him to get it done though. He left me a message on the 7th (of Feb) to this effect.

here is the reply that i got today from rx8orders@mazdausa.com it may help explain some things, ie that my dealer at least screwed up my order :

"E-mail confirmations will only occur for those who have ordered a
vehicle through a dealership as an actual pre-order. If a dealership
has placed an order for a vehcile as another type of allocation, and
has promised you that, when received, it will be reserved for you, you
will NOT receive e-mail updates. Your e-mail can not be added to any
database for inclusion as updates are only for actual pre-order
participants and is automated based on this variable.

If you are unsure if this is the case, please speak with the dealership
that placed your order.

I have requested information about your specific order from a
searchable (not countable in order to estimate how many orders have
been placed) database. Your name does not appear on a preorder list. If
your dealer has given you a confirmation number, they have placed an
order for you, but it may be possible that it is not a pre-order that
would generate e-mail updates."

that bit in the parenthesis is because i asked them how many have been sold and they don't seem to want to tell me

basically i'm not ever going to get the email updates on the building and shipping of my car. and now i wonder if the us like other countries is planning to give "gifts" to all the pre-order people if i am going to be left out of that also it says right there that they can't even fix it if the dealer did it wrong. they should have made sure that all the dealers knew exactly what they needed to know and how to so it right before the site ever went live. 8 f*%*@ing months i was on their list- stupid gits

*sigh* I'll bet that's what's going on with my dealer as well- and I better get some goodies with my car- I sent them another sale!!

I guess as long as I get my car, I'll be happy- I would have loved to know what was going on with my specific car though. I guess everyone else will just have to keep us updated..

This is the response I got today from RX8orders regarding gifts:

"I'm afraid that we still do not have official confirmation of the RX-8 United States pre-order gifts. There will indeed be a gift, possibly more than one, but I am trying to obtain more definitive information for you."

today i went to my dealer and showed him the email that i posted above. we went to his office and got on his computer and printed from the dealer access of the website the cars they have pre ordered. my name is on the second one they ordered with my email, confirmation number the date it was ordered even the due date which is june week 1. i noticed however that it said titanium instead of sunlight silver(which i asked him to change on jan 13th ). so i am still in the dark as to why i haven't received the email confirmation. every time mazdausa says "well maybe your dealer did such an such wrong" they show me that they haven't. my dealer said "they must have their head up their a@$(his words) how could it be anything but a pre-order when the car isn't due until june" he is going to call them on monday to try and get it staightened out and to make the change of color. i'm not holding my breath that he can get anything fixed but we'll see.
but at least now i have seen the order with my own eyes, that makes it a tiny bit better

I would say that you got an order that the dealership had put in for the first allocation with no actual buyer and just changed the order (or was already the correct) to what you wanted.

I'm a little confused. I was told by my dealer that I am in the second allocation, so I was expecting the car July-August. I ordered 01/24 and got an email from Mazda 02/12. Does this mean it was actually the first allocation? The email seemed pretty generic, I thought at least it would contain some data about my order, this is the text (original was HTML):

Good news!

Your local Mazda dealer has submitted your request to Mazda for your 2004 Mazda RX-8—the sports car bred from bloodlines of the legendary RX-7. The next step is for the factory in Japan to process and confirm your order. This normally takes place within 45 days of your production month. We will send you a notification email once this process is complete.

In the meantime, if you haven't already done so please visit the web site where you can download Mazda RX-8 wallpapers and screensavers!

Again, thank you for your participation in our Mazda RX-8 Order program!

Mazda RX-8 Order Headquarters

Is this the same message everyone else got?

Gamera, that is the same message that we all got (yes I'm speaking for everyone :D ) It looks as if, by the date you received your email from mazda, that you did get one from the first allocation. Then again I could be wrong, I'm not perfect, just like to think I am.
