2009 R3 Bluetooth...help?
2009 R3 Bluetooth...help?
So I've got my sweet new car, and I have only one complaint so far. When I use the built-in bluetooth to talk on the phone, the sound is really faint, and only comes from the right-passenger door speaker. No problem, I thought, I'll just crank the volume to a reasonable level (typically in the 50's). So then I'm driving down the road, and the car begins to speak to me: HOLY **** YOU'RE GETTING A CALL! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH.
Suffice it to say that with the volume up at 50-something for the bluetooth, the voice of the car is ear-shatteringly loud. But calls sound fine. Is there some way to make the incoming call use the whole system instead of 1 speaker so I don't have to crank it up? There don't appear to be any balance controls for the bluetooth, and I don't think having centerpoint on/off makes any difference.
It seems like the sort of problem someone would have noticed the first time they tried it and then redesigned it, unless I'm missing some sort of really obvious setting somewhere.
Suggestions?

Could it be the phone? Mazda has a list of all the phones that work and the ones that don't on their site. It says that some work "with problems." I used the list to buy my last phone to make sure it work.

also make sure when using an android phone that you follow the prompts on the phone. It will ask you if you want to allow the vehicle to look at your contacts. Select yes or else it will not connect.
it wont give me an option to type it on my phone. it says" please say the four digit code" and as soon as i say the 4 digit code it says "pairing failed" i have to press "paired but not connected" option on my mobile to connect my bluetooth system but it requires the 4 digit code which i can not remember. i never had this problem before, remember it has been fine for over a year, it has been connected and it always worked fine until one day it decided to require a 4 digit code. i still have all my contact names and numbers saved in my cars phone book but i cant connect my bluetooth anymore.
built in bluetooth usually never works properly...the only car i've had that it actually worked well in was my wifes camary and from what i understand thats not common...but with that said my x5 has built in bt and i have never even used it. I came across this Jabra Cruiser 2 speaker phone and have never looked back...it connects easily when i get in the car, a simple touch makes the connection and its all butter from there. When i want to hear music/gps...really any multimedia i dial in an empty fm station and the speakerphone does the rest...wirelessly. Its a pretty solid connection as well, not fuzzy sound like the similar old school wired connection...my 2 cents...
