2005 2006 rx8?
Hey I'm new to the forum. I've been reading a lot about RX-8's and I love the car. I am getting ready to buy a new car, so I am comparing the RX-8 to 350z and a few others. I went to the dealership yesterday and the salesman said the 2004 model is considered a 2004-2005 all in one.
Is this true? If not, when will the 2005 be available? If it is true, any idea on when the 2006 be available?
Sorry if this topic has been posted before.

they've made changes to the 2004 models - so the 2004 with a recent build date has quite a few things done differently than those made in the mid 2003 year. All are "2004" RX8's though. The changes are basically bug fixes, dealing with mostly minor things. But you shouldn't see the newer cars with 12 mpg numbers, or flooding issues.
The 2005 will basically be the same as the recent 2004 models, but without the yellow color option and with a new key..

I heard for the 2006 model, there will be a beefier 6-speed manual transmission (to possibly go with more power?), thank goodness. I can't wait to do the swap for the crappy one I have now. :D
I hope by then, Mazda will incorporate an SMG-type transmission option for the automatic; my dad really wants to drive one of these cars.
