BUY THE MAZDASPEED TRANSFORMER CONVERSION!

I purchased my '04 RX-8 about a year ago and lurked here for a couple of months. I thought it was about time to for me to register and have a place to talk about how I cant afford mods, hate my local Mazda dealer, and spread lies about future RX-8 models. I mean, thats what new members do right...on top of making bad first post by starting their own threads...

First thing: I went to Mazda to ask them how much it would be for me to purchase the Mazdaspeed CAI and have them install it (since i wanted to avoid taking the bumper off myself). They wanted to charge me $460 for the CAI and $490 for the install. I think im just going to avoid ever going to the dealership for anything...ever. Opinions?

There are some DIY's about the front bumper removal. It takes about 1/2 hour for the novice. The CAI is also available here for a lot less money. Seeing's how you've been around you should know how to search for the answers.

Yeah I think I might have to pick up one of those Transformers for myself...I was a HUGE Transformer fan when I was a kid! Do they come in red?

 

WoW , 490 for the install ? thats the the biggest rip off EVER.

See this is why no one ever trust dealerships.

man u know what, I was about to say 100 bux I do it for u. If u're in NYC area, I do it for u for free, just to make sure that u bring me back to that dealership and I wanna ask them how the Fuxk on earth that they can even try to charge you 490. Unless their labor rate is 490 per hour.

Local car club member gatherings are the best for doing mods. In the Pacific Northwest we all use dannobre - hahaha

 

Thanks guys for the welcome. I cant take anybody up on an install offer (well anybody thats offered so far) because i live in the DFW area of Texas. I dont plan to ever go to the dealership for anything but warranty issues from now on, those damn vultures. They'll pick your bones...

But if any DFW area rx-8ers want to invite me to any meets, it'd be appreciated.

I should probably post that in a different part of the forum though...


Oh, theres no red ones but there is a mazdaspeed decepticon. Its hard to find though...
