16/own an rx8. tips

I am 16 and my first car is an black manual 04 rx8. Just woundering, for those of you that have been driving an 8 for a long time, if there was anything that would be helpful to me/something you wish you knew when you got yours, about maintenance and care.

Read the Manual! The Rotary engine is oil injected so you will have to add it occasionally or you will destroy the engine. Read the Manual! Keep the revs up.

Make sure that you've had the 4206F emissions recall done. Check at a local mazda dealer if you're unsure.

Remove your front license plate as soon as possible, get some extremely dark limo tint on all windows except the windshield, don't speed or do any dumb **** to impress your friends, and be extremely grateful your parents are able to buy you a car like that at 16. Wait, my parents did too, LOL.

Exactly....who freaking cares how old you are (or are you just trying to brag that you are a spoiled little kid)?

Car looks excellent and you are one lucky 16 yr. old. See if you can change the amber corner lights to clear/white and you will notice an immediate improvement in appearance. That, with a tint, will charge it up. And imo the black looks best without strakes so keep 'em off unless you like them.

Congratulations.

at 16 i'd first get a few years of driving experience in a civic or vw. some car thats made for old ladies.

otherwise don't be an idiot driving it or showing off for your friends or you wont have the rx8 very long. The car handles great, but when 3 of your buddies add another 240lbs total it handles different.

Hug mommy and daddy every day and thank them for the car, the insurance and the gas money.

Do not turn off DSC/TC until you safely practice driving without it. Try one of the many HPDE events in your area to learn how to handle the car.

Your sixteen and your first car is an black manual rx8? Grammatical lesson number one: you are supposed to use "a" there, not "an." Tip number one: don't be an idiot like some of your friends will be, I'm with you on that one...
