125 limit on MT?

I have an 05 MT. It was a preowned car, I felt that it was limited to 125. I tried going faster, it didnt, I then did not get to a chance to push harder again. Is that possible?

no limiter on the mt 8. 5th gear 140+. what gear were you in, that may be a factor.

I can tell you without a doubt that there is no limit at 125 mph.

Something is wrong unless you can't tell the difference between an AT and MT.

Fourth maxes out at 127mph so you had to be in fifth or sixth.

The 4 speed 05's definately feel like they have one....having owned an 05 AT before I got the MT...I took that thing up to 125 numerous times....never could get past that number....never...always stopped on 125 ...downhill....with the wind ....lightweight rims and a few breating mods....I could not get that thing past 125....that is all .....

now in the MT i've been over 150 ....so yes no speedlimit there =)

i took mine up to 149 once in 6th gear. i almost hit 150 but the road started to incline, not much, but enough to keep the wheels from going a tiny bit faster haha. it was a rush!

Definitly was not in 6th, so 5th it was. To bad I ran out of road. It's a two lane road with corn fields on eaither side.

Yeah, I know. I remember reading a lot of threads that say there is a speed limiter only on auto and not on Manual. I was wondering if at all the previous owner had it placed on request?

the MT definitelys does not top out at 125mph.

are you sure you dont have an automatic? paddle shifters are still considered automatic.

Only if a six speed gear box (in between the front seats) is considered automatic, then I have an automatic.

don't think it matters, the 4port a/t's run out of power at that speed anyway

Basically, my point is, could there be a possibility that the previous owner could have got a speed limiter set up for my 05 MT for some reason?

I think you should not be making references to running triple digit speeds on public roads. I am sure you all meant to say that you were on a closed circuit track. ;-)
