Anybody familiar with the minor updates in the 2006 model year? For some reason, I thought I read somewhere a mention of a remote ignition being a stock feature on the keyless entry setup. True/False?

 

False from what I have heard. You will have a key card with "push button" start ala MS6.

 

It's my understanding that the GT package includes keyless start but no remote start.

 

correct.keyless - you dotn need to put your key in the ignition to start. there is a cap over the ignition which you turn. but not remote start- in the states. i saw one available in the Japanese accessory catalog

 

I was looking at options today on the 06 Mazda3 and as an accessory item they offer remote engine start for auto trans. It seems strange they offer remote start for the 3 but not for the 8.

 

Is the 06 model even out yet?

I just dont understand how we are several months into the year and the car isnt out yet. Usually they are released in the spring of the year before!

 

Well according to the salesman I spoke to last weekend, the '06s will be here in April and are total redesigned from the wheels up. Yeah, a total redesign after 2 model years How are these people allowed to live?

 

how much do you think it will it cost to buy the parts to make our cars keyless? Will it even be possible?
