06 or 07 RX8

I am looking at purchasing a RX8, either a 06 or 07 GT 6 speed.
- Are there any differences, updates, tweeks to the 07 from 06? other than color and 6 disc changer standard on 07 GT.
- In looking up the pricing and S plan prices, after rebate there is only about a 1000.00 difference between the 06 and 07. Deprecition has to be more than a grand on the 06 vs the 07..
any thoughts appreciated..
thanks...

take the 06. Same car and you can negotiate a great price for one. I also feel that the 06 and 07 will hold value a little better then the 04/05 because less were brought over of the former.

How is there only a $1k difference between an 06 and 07 when you get $3k rebate on an 06.
I didnt see any rebates posted for an 07...anyways, with an 06, you should be able to negotiate a better deal as well.

Tip from a former salesman....

As a rule of thumb, if there are new models sitting on the same lot, last year's model should be discounted about 20%.

06 4 year/50K WARRANTY =) not that it matters but it might , as the 07 has 3 year/36K warranty. Something to consider.

already been said, but I will echo.

Car is the same (hell, you can tell people its an 07 if you want)

warranty is better on the 06

As Chasvhill stated, I bought my 05 new off the lot while they had 06's and got a loaded GT more than 25% off. Definitely push the seller on this, there is no way he wants those things on his lot.

Thanks for all the replies: just picked up a new 2006 RX8 6 speed manual and got one heck of a deal,, between the 3K in rebates and the S- plan price it was too good to turn down saved 6K off MSRP.. also yep on the 4yr - 50K on the 06, good deal.. but I also have from Geico 7 yr - 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty for about 60 bucks a yr. It has a 250.00 deductable, so for the first 4yrs/50K I will use the mazda warranty and then if I have a problem I am covered for 3 more yrs to 100,000 miles...

Here's what I got: 2006 ( new ) RX8 6 speed manual
GALAXY GRAY MC - with BLACK/CHAPARRAL Leather
GRAND TOURING PKG M/T
IN-DASH 6-DISC CD CHANGER
REAR WING SPOILER
ALARM SHOCK SENSOR UPGRADE
SPARE TIRE KIT

The 2 tone leather looks awesome, and the way this car drives is just unreal.. what a blast... thanks again for all the tips and advise.

I just got my '07 today, 7 year, 70k warranty.
I'm happy..

06 & 07's are basically the same. I couldn't find any 06's around here so I went with the brand new ones. First find. I got, I loved.
