**Question for EVERYONE**

My bro is looking into buying an RX-8. I'm trying to find him the best buy when it comes to RARITY and such. I own a 3rd Gen RX-7 and I know that the Yellow Mica is the rarest color. I'm wanting to go deep to find out how rare we can get. With the TT RX-7 I'm told there were only around "10" brought over that were "Black" with "Red" interior. These have a crazy re-sale. (not that he wants to sell it)

These are the kind of things my bro is looking for. He does like the black and prefers it. Any suggestions?? Stock body kit? Sport packages? Anything extra to make it a really remarkable car besides being an RX-8 is what we are looking for.

Are there going to be Mazdaspeeds coming to the US?

Thanks for your time everyone.

From what I've heard browsing around this forum, there is going to be a US Mazdaspeed version, but I don't think there is any sort of release date yet.

Isn't white the rarest color for the FD?

IkeWRX,

Actually you might be right or very close. I know in 94 there were around 250 or so automatic white FD's. I don't know the full count. It would be a close call between the white and yellow as to the rarest but I would still bet my chips on the yellow. I have an old SCC mag somewhere around here with the figures

pretty interesting stuff man. The artical that I have doesn't say anything about a pearly white 3rd gen. I've never even heard of it. Thanks for the info.

Dom.

I wonder if there is a way to find out the Numbers for production for the US on the RX-8? This would help me in my search for finding the rarest one or at least close to it. Anyone know how?

If you are looking for rare, I would think the base model with no options & 16" wheels is the rarest of all models and if you find one in yellow then I think that would be the ultimate of the rare.

One thing I have noticed is the 'green' is very rare as well ...

I have no figures to back this up so I could be totally wrong but I can tell you I have only seen one base model in the past 8 months and that was at the dealer ...

Also I don't know if the base model would sell very well down the road since a lot of people want the some options such as DSC, traction control and 18" wheels.

Good luck !!

Well, we were just discussing the rarest RX-8 today at the shop. The "X-Men" RX-8 is the one. I don't think you could buy it though. It's a one-off (or maybe they made two or three in case they wrecked one during filming).

From my observation at dealerships and on the roads, green is rarest. I've seen only ONE green model at a dealer, none on the road.

Wasn't this the last year that they were producing yellow though? I thought that is was going to be replaced with white.
