When I started autocrossing, in one day - I beat a twin turbo Supra and a 427 Cobra (Superformance) on a very long/wide course (better for high-hp cars)... real (not pax) times. I thought I was "the man". Then later that day, I saw that a 45 year old women (with dad and kids cheering on) kicked my ***... in a stock Neon... a base Neon.

I believe that you will feel the most difference with sway bars. I'm using the ones from Racing Beat and you can really feel the improvement in stability and handling. The front bar is a pain to install (needs drilling if you get RB endlinks) but the back is cake. Compared to an intake or exhaust, sway bars are probably the cheapest and easiest to install.
