I'll plan on staying at Nantahalla as well. I'll probably make the drive up Friday night, and then hit the Tail on Saturday.

wat?? rx8 is easily over 150... he said the 204 was on a bike

 

152 was the fastest i pushed an 8 and it was downhill, the 204 was a ungoverened busa that was modded

I was driving around the freeway at night near Mexico and floored my 8 for a solid 2 minutes. Go her up to 137 MpH, wouldn't go any faster. I'd imagine with my 6-speed S2 diff (5.77 I believe) could redline 6th at around 155-160 MPH, without drag. Would have to dyno the car to confirm that.

 

yea like i said 156 is my rx8's top speed on a flat .. it gears out and thats in 5th. 6th doesnt produce any more speed unless you are downhill then you would get over 156

I just got my newly purchased S1 out of limp mode today and haven't gotten to shake it down to see what all needs fixin' or I'd come out. Next time hopefully

 

sounds like yall need to come i mean im capable of fixing anything and everything on your rx8 more than anyone you could take it to... and probably have the parts you need lol.

its not gonna be anything crazy if you can make it and we can chill have some beers and take a rip or two on the roads around is all im lookin for. next year will be diff yes

 

The top speed is drag limited not gear limited.

 

in 6th gear yes. 5th gear is where the rx8 gets its top speed though

any small issues with cars we can have a fix-it sesh on friday (i will have tools and teh skills) then cruise/drive saturday

 

Had a blast last weekend. Rasta really knows the area well and we had such perfect weather, so he knew scenic areas to get pictures. Definitely recommend doing the TotD if you haven't already. That kind of road reminds you why you bought the RX-8.

 

was indeed a great time even though noone else showed up :P but now you know we are serious! next year it will be much more planned and i will get a new thread started for it asap

 

It's a shame that I wasn't able to join. The funny thing was that I was right there that weekend. I went rafting with my boys' scout troop that Saturday on the Nantahala. Hopefully I can join next time. I've got to pay more attention to rx8club.
