Can someone tell me that with it saying it is a charger intake...does that mean we have to do something different to it than regular intakes? I have the Simoto charger intake that is the carbon fiber cylinder. Am I supposed to do something to keep it maintained different from a regular intake?

I bought this intake from Rotary.FX, about 2 weeks ago now, installation was easy although I had to redo some of the stock tubing to clean it up :-). The Air Filter on the dyno didn't really show much of a gain, the best we could see was 2hp (could be due to the driver on the dyno). But it does sound very nice and mixed with a nice test pipe and a high flow exhaust it might boost up the #'s. The stock stock filter is Junk for airflow and with my RX8 gets dirty fast. The intake is rather larger as it is also long compared to other intakes I have seen for the RX8. It's not as nice as some of the cold air systems but it does utilized all the factory locations and with an added aluminum tubing (built by the user if you can do that sort of thing) it could work as a cold air.
All and All I am happy with it price was right and it sounds a lot more aggressive then the stock intake. I will post a vid soon and I will post pictures tonight. If you want a 300-400 dollar intake buy one but I am not willing to spend that on something that won't make to much diff on our cars (as Mazda really squeezed as much power outta them as they could).

However apart from the sound and look it doesn't do much. And if your like some of the others afraid the factory engine cover won't work any more, who cares why would you want to hide such a amazing motor under a cover anyways LOL. Best of luck I am going to take pic's in a few moments if it stops raining and I will post a vid tonight.

Those funky looking metal braces go on the bottom of the intake. They hold the intake up so you don't get the spider webbing. They attach to the two holes on the bottom of your plastic tray.
