Hahah yea... it's been brutal getting things i need to get the engine together. Rotating assembly was at a machine shop adjusting the balance for like 2~3 years. It took them over a year from the time the work was done to just put it in a crate and ship it back, and we were harassing them weekly. It's been an adventure for sure. I'd like to have it running for DGRR, but that will be difficult. Not impossible, but difficult.I dont know if I can get a fabricator in time. That's more my concern. I'll keep posting things as i have info etc. Should move a lot faster soon.

Nice build! Those rotors look nice, lightened and side clearance. Does the crossmember move the steering rack or is it just to mount the 20b?

Just got a Bosch 82mm DBW throttle body with 20b adapter and 90mm inlet from Pac Performance.
Coils and custom resonator coming from BHR.
Rear diff hard mount from LS1RX8.
Haltech R3 and 3 wide bands. Shawn wants to run these instead of a wide band and 3 EGT sensors. Whatever makes it simpler... it's just NA.

I'm stressing getting this wiring done in time, and hoping that the engine is ready at the expected time... guess we'll see.... I'll try to keep everyone posted.

Any specifics you can share on the custom BHR resonator? Is it larger than the typical 3"?

Special ordered one off 3.5" version. Just the resonator though. We'll make our own mid pipe.

It's been several issues, and multiple shops. Chip balance was off, and it took 2 years to get the rotating assembly back from the person that fixed it. That was frustrating. Lots of little things like that where each person has taken way longer than it should have. At least it's finally getting done.

I assume it won’t make it to DGRR, though would love to hear that’s the wrong assumption.

We're going to try... but 2 weeks is cutting it close. If it does make it, it may not look pretty yet

Hopefully you can pull it off, even if it's not pretty yet.

At this point I'm pretty sure I'll be in the MR2. It'll be there next year!

Engine is dropped off at the fabricator to get the transmission mount, exhaust, and a few more things done. Should be running in April.

even that’s a stretch, 2 weeks would be delusional

not to be negative, but understanding the amount of work involved in a swap like this that goes beyond it simply running.

It'll be done when it's done. At least I have the motor.

Engine bay shaved, wheel wells tubbed, and sealed, ready for paint. Also I think my license plate is kinda funny.

Yea it's eccentric, but hey you have a 20B that's all that matters. The engine bay looks great already, no paint required.

Engine bay painted and engine and transmission back in the car. The carbon zylon wrapped mazdaspeed strut bar is looking good to me in there.

Getting closer and closer to being ready. just have to get everything plumbed, and wired. color matched the brakes to the engine bay too.

Stunning!

Just out of curiosity, the engine looks very low in the engine bay (pics can be deceiving), what are you using for a sump? Is it quite low profile?
