does your abs work?
i'm having trouble with my ABS. It engages but it engages too late (full second or two after the car starts sliding). I ruled out everything. module and ECU are matching. Wiring is all good. Brake switch works. I have no ABS light.
now i'm thinking maybe ECU needs input from the engine other than the tach. Does anyone here with a swap have working ABS without issues? anyone have similar problem? thanks all. |
No issues here. I'm REW swapped.
Used the renny throttlebody/front cover w/ Inter-X ECU. Going on 5yrs w/zero issues. . |
thanks. are you using rx8 tranny or rx7 trans?

Using RX-8 5spd w/ACT HDSS PP & sprung 6puck clutch.

My ABS works fine...Traction control and stability control are disabled ;) No RX-8throttle body and standalone so no way for the ECU to change power settings

ah okay. man. I can't figure mine out. If I bring my car to the dealership, the manager may have a seizure. err.. damn it. don't know what to do.

You have multiple threads, each with different information. Getting replies from other people is useless when they don't have all the proper information, like you relocated the ABS assembly, etc.

I get that. I also didn't have all the information when I first started a couple threads hoping for a simple answer--like try a matching module which I had no idea about from another thread.
Now with the matching module, the abs motor does kick in but only just split second before coming to a full stop and the pedal acts really odd just before I feel the abs modulation (it instantly becomes soft and travels down 1-2" before I can feel the abs modulations with my foot). My brake pressure without abs is otherwise good and I bled the system completely. I checked abs sensor's resistance using multimeter.. to my recollection, they were around 1.2kohm each, but from reading around, people say I should be checking the voltage fluctuations as I turn the wheels, so I will try that. If you have any ideas I haven't tried, I'm all ears. |
Check voltage in AC for those sensors.
|
thanks. will check that. I only checked their resistance which all read around 1.2kohm i think. how are they supposed to read in AC as I turn the wheel?
|
According to Mitchell the resistance for the wheel sensors should be between 0.79 - 2.2kohm
The right way to test is using an oscilloscope so you can actually look at the wave it produces as you spin the wheel, Looking for any deformations that could indicate an issue. Looking at AC voltage it'll just increase the faster you spin the wheel. |
