Goal? I really don't want more than 450 to the wheels. The video and pictures where taken a few days ago when I first started it up to make sure everything was working right and more importantly oil pressure. Luckily for me we noticed that I forgot to install the rear oil seal, since I built the engine about a 1year ago and wanted to put it on when the engine went in. Dumbass I forgot all about it and oil was spewing everywhere... Unfortunately not everything went as I planned today and the shop where I was going to do it had an extra car in, so I have to wait until Monday, damn it

Well the kid that was next to it didn't say anything, except that he was happy as a pig in shit!

As I have a shitty work schedule 7:30am-5:30pm, it's not moving along as fast as want it to, so please be patient and I'll post everything with pictures.

Well after 3.5hours and bloody knuckles, it's finally out with the old and in with the new! Someone should really do a full DIY engine removal-what a pain in the ass! Hopefully this weekend I'll get a lot done.

TeamRX8 11-27-2009 06:48 AM

looks like you pulled it out the top

there is a full DIY removal, but all the pics were lost because they were linked rather than attached

that is one dirty engine bay ...

dznutzuk 11-27-2009 07:05 AM

Yeah, I pulled out from the top. Dirty? More like dusty, that's what happens when you live in Greece, especially in the city where I live-plus I have no garage to put it in. I'm kind of against power washing the engine bay-had problems with other cars in the past.

dznutzuk 12-03-2009 01:49 AM

Hey everyone, finally got some time to get some things ready. The engine mounts. I'm gonna stick with the stock ones and prepare them and have them made in steel 'cause I don't really like stock aluminum ones that are modified(safety reasons). I made some pics of what has to be done for the spark plug side. I might even have a couple of these made up for people who want them. I'm going to have 2 different ones made up-1 for the stock transmission and 1 with the rx7(fd) transmission(which moves the whole engine and tranny about 12,5cm forwards so the shifter is in the same place and intake clearance).

firecran 12-03-2009 07:38 AM

looks good!

I would be interested in a set of motor mounts for future project.
What do think they would cost?

thanks.

you forgot to say which Christmas ..... (dated Oct 2008)
I have a hard time being jealous of a build that takes over a year but I'm sure it will be fun when you are finished - good luck .

dznutzuk 12-03-2009 11:49 PM

Yeah well no one said the build took over a year, like i said on the previous page after a very very long delay(health issues) I'm back on track. I officially started it about 2.5 weeks ago. The engine is going in tonight, so I don't think that's too bad.

kersh4w 12-04-2009 12:50 AM

congrats on getting over that.

i cant wait till i get to go back to my fatherland. you're lucky. greece is so beautiful.

Billet Throttle body

5 Attachment(s)
All you need is my new billet 90mm throttle body(COPYRIGHT) that i just finished designing and promoting for the FD manifold ,but will fit the cosmo intake manifold with slight mods.It will help your setup by moving the throttle cable to the front side(alternator side)plus you can use the greddy elbow tighter clearance.:naughty:

RX927 12-07-2009 10:17 PM

Beautiful craftmanship on that throttle body. I can see a lot more stable air flow with that.

Dznutzuk.

Have you thought of using the front cover off a REW engine? I would expect engine management would be a lot more simpler without the RE's mechanical design crank angle sensors/space?
