No experiment, same as everyone else's. I am thinking you may have installed the tip incorrectly because it should be no where near the shroud. If you can take pics we can see where the problem is and we can get it corrected for you.

ya honestly thats the only problem other than that i like it but it dose cause your check eng light to come on bc the ecu cannot tottaly cope with the loss of back pressure and if you let your car idle for a while it gets kinda rough, but then again i have the rb dual resonated mid as well. i might have to get a cobb tuner to fix that..
I'm gonna shoot myself |

Second, do you even understand anything about exhaust, loss of back pressure causes the CEL to come on?!?! With your level of intelligence you shouldn't try to install anything yourself, you are clearly a danger to yourself, and probably everyone around you. |

You sir, are a compete idiot. First off why the hell would you install an exhaust without all the parts. Would you put in an engine without everything installed correctly...oh wait yes you probably would.

I've been looking at this exhaust for awhile now.
Couldn't wait any longer, placed a order for the cat back and some EVO-R endlinks. Can't wait to get them! :ylsuper: |

Can you please double check the big box that the exhaust came in, there should be a 6x4x6 box with the Tip, gaskets and hardware in there. I just double checked my inventory and I am not extra those above items so the items were sent in that box. I know the box can be lost in the sea of packing peanuts. |
I'm really considering this exhaust, but I was wondering if a dual is more quiet I heard single exit is louder? is this true? I live in california so I would like a fairly quiet exhaust cops out here hate pretty much anything that isn't domestic and from 30+ years ago

That's cool, I still got to get some shocks before I install anything. Looking forward to hearing this exhaust on my car. :smoker: -Shawn |
wow ok you sir are an ass for one and i understand more than you ever will.. with the loss of back pressure the ecu cannot fully correct the fuel mapping for the loss of back pressure so.. you have to change you fuel mapping to do just that thats were cobb comes in for the light stuff and no i would not do an install with out all the parts that i needed the thermal resistant rtv was a good temporary fix for the gasket until i had one made and i had bought the proper hard wear before hand as well, but honestly if your just going to be an ass on here before you have any facts straight just dont post anything at all if you have a problem pm me and we can talk.

>redline86 Sorry Brice we don't mean to jack your thread but this guy is just too much. Back to the subject at hand, I really want your exhaust. Unfortunately the money I could have used to get it I ended up getting a whole new fuel pump assembly. When I do get around to it though I'd like to dyno this with a before and after comparison with the stock exhaust with mid pipe with all my other mods and will gladly post my results. I'll contact you about it later and maybe you can point me to a reputable dyno in the area. |

but i couldn't tell you what equipment, i just know i pull my car up on it and accel. lol i think he charges 60.00 for a few pulls. but i could be wrong its been awhile. if your interested let me know. i can try and get a hold of him |
I am down to 2 exhausts in stock and ready to ship.
|
I posted this on the other thread for this exhaust, but I'll put it up here since I see people asking for videos. I love the exhaust. Didn't have any problems installing and its been good ever since.

Mines in the mail, can't freaking wait! My apt complex is going to love me every morning at 4:30am when I warm her up. Haha!
Brice, any update on the endlinks? Still haven't picked a shock yet, so no rush, just wondering. |

Exhaust came in yesterday, looks like everything is here. Should be installing Monday or Tuesday. Thanks Brice.

hurry! I wanna hear the sound with the gutted cat
|
I'll post a video when I get it on. Might try to install it today if I got enough daylight after work. Gf already bitching cause I got it laid out in the living room and I won't let her move it. Lol

^haha

Got it on!
Ran into a few problems, none were the cat-back's fault though. Broke both of the spring bolts, and for some reason the nuts were welded or something to the flange. We had to drill the holes out which was not fun at all. But now it's on. :D: So, my opinion, the quality is great. Came with everything needed to install. It's LOUD, very loud, but it sounds BAD-ASS, very bad-ass. Within 5 mins of starting it up to let it warm up I had 4 random people around the back of the car. After I got the tools picked up I went go give it a rev, by request, and then camera phones started popping up lol. Here are two clips I got off them, sorry for some reason the second clip didn't record sound. I'll post a better one in a few days. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5tEy...ature=youtu.be -Shawn |

1 exhaust left until next month.
|
So 2 very small issues since the install.
1. Melted part of the exhaust shroud, but not bad and I was able to trim it away from the pipe and seems to be doing well now. It's the back part of the shroud, so you can't even tell I cut it. 2. Got a rattle at idle, sometimes. It looks like the pipe is hitting the frame by the diff. Maybe some header wrap around that area might fix the problem... It has gotten a little quieter now that I fixed a leak. Still very happy with it. Waiting for a good day off to make a video still. |

Well I wish I knew about that wd40 trick lol. I caught 7 kinds of hell taking the oem muffler off the hangers.
I might try to "stretch" that hanger by the diff. Didn't have a rattle problem till I finally got that hanger on. |

^ Snow?
What is this snow you speak of? |
Ok good I am not the only one with the rattle. I'll have to fix that this weekend when I'm installing my RB Midpipe. With the hangers I found it easier to just use dish soap.
|
i have had it on for a year, and i have no idea what rattle you guys speak of.. lol i havent had anything, besides my inner side of the shroud melt a little bit. but not visible from behind car.
|
Well I haven't had any problems with the exhaust shroud. I haven't noticed it at least, maybe I should check. I've had the exhaust for about half a year. I didn't notice the rattle until I made a video for the exhaust and heard it through the camera. Sounds pretty crazy higher in the rpm band. Maybe Z0oMzo0m just used some magic to install it different than I?
|
Ok so some of you guys got a rattle but not everyone, and some had issues with the shrouds. Could this just be a user install issue mabe or just variations in the product? I've heard some people had a lot of issues with the Agency power exhaust, but others had none. Just curious because I'd like to support a local vendor that seems to have a great product, but for 150 more I can get the HKS that I have yet to hear one bad thing about.

when i first noticed it... I set my bose to level 2 volume and it covered it Today driving home i had to set it at 4. I have yet to check my shrouds but i dont think it is much of an issue. I think the rattle may be from excess wd40 :p: ill have to jack the car up when it gets warmer to diagnose this. The rattle im hearing sounds as if it is coming to the left of my driver side door or the door itself but when i put pressure on the door it doesnt stop, i think it may just be hitting something and sound is traveling. Note the rattle im hearing is only coming on at idle and any gas and i mean anything applied will make it go away. RRSingle and HKS Hi Power are very similar in design, i think the Hi Power might be lighter (Brice do you confirm?) but i dont think by much, and it doesnt matter to me because im not tracking my rx8 hardcore where i need the few lb difference... Also noting that since they are very similar in design they both give off very similar tones that you wouldnt be able to tell unless revved side by side. What i dont like about the hks is that their tip doesnt say HKS on it or anything, for anyone knows it could be a ebay exhaust. Though i think the hks tip is a Ti where the RR is a Ti painted finish on Stainless steel. These things are what make up if the +$150 is worth it to you. |

Replacing those hangers with Poly would be a solution to reduce the movement of the exhaust. |
^ Brice, mine seems to be more the hanger is holding it to high (to close) to the frame near the diff. I had no rattle till a day or 2 later when I finally put that last hanger on by the diff.
I plan on fixing it, just not now. I've been super lazy since installing it. |

Really hard to tell on each customers installed application. I have seen that the exhaust hangers play a huge role, so if a customers is more worn and flexible more movement would occur.
Replacing those hangers with Poly would be a solution to reduce the movement of the exhaust. Could that play in movement also be the cause of melted shrouds? Either way, RR or HKS I'm gonna purchase it through you. Everyone who has it seems to be happy with the over all build quality and the sound. I'm just nit picking on the fine details thats all. |
Redline, I have it and im close to Vero, we can meet up sometime and you can see what it looks like in person, sounds may little different due to my midpipe but you will get the idea :) let me know
Shoot me a Pm, and i can give you my number |

No problems at all with mine....I highly recommend it.
Also, I really like being different with the single tip design. |
