Why the cars aren't getting to dealers quicker!

here is what Shoe (from Washington state) had to say about the delay as he found when he picked up his car:

Got mine yesterday.

Had to go down to the port with the dealer to pick it up. Apparently the cars are only being shipped out on the tail end of the trucks (last 3 positions) due to clearance issues. But if the dealer isn't getting a full delivery, they may not get their 8's until the truck is otherwise full.

But I got to unwrap my present at the port, and drove it myself from the port to the dealer for PDI. Then I finally got to take it home.

not sure about that shipping issue? our first two were loaded all the way up front on the top of the truck? could be different types of loaders out there, but was no problem getting them down from way up there.

I say we gather all the preorder customers from Austin then kidnap Budaman and take a road trip to the Midlothian port.
Well it sounded like a good idea at first. Guess I will be sitting by the phone waiting for a call.

Well, maybe it's a way to promote the sale number for other cars by getting the customer in for the RX8 but end up buying other cars?

They did mention at the port that even though they had trained the trucking company, that many of the truckers were loading them "up front" as well as in back. Some of the truckers can level out all of their ramps, and then drive the car right up to the front, but many trailers still have a clearance issue.

They weren't going to send the 8's to my dealer until a delivery was full. I'm not sure how often dealers work together to fill orders, or if that's too much of a hassle.

I'm just happy that my dealer was willing to take me to the port and pick it up there.
