Question Who has the "right" invoice number?

OK, so I've done all my research (Edmunds, CarsDirect, KBB, etc.) on an '05 Shinka and I see a little variation on what "invoice" is between them ($200-300). No biggie.

I hit up several local dealers (greater Chicago) for internet pricing and I'm getting quoted (w/o rebates) somewhere between invoice and $500 below. HOWEVER, the invoice price I've been quoted is about $500 more than Edmunds and KBB.

I'm making visits to each of these guys to go over this with a fine tooth comb. I'm loooking for the "right" pricing and then I'll go in and consumate the deal.

So what gives? Anyone know why the "invoice" prices are higher than the internet info by as much as $500?

AT "SHINKA" SPECIAL EDITION 29,295

MT "SHINKA" SPECIAL EDITION 30,005

SAX Satellite Radio Credit SE "SHINKA" , for Alaska and Hawaii only (261)

* Dealer Invoice Price is the price to Dealer of vehicle only, including dealer holdback allowance and uniform marketing charge.
Dealer Invoice Price does not include Destination Charge, State and Local Taxes or Fees or any other charges.

so probably the higher of the two you looked at is including destination charge. but really what are you quibbling about? you have been given what sounds like decent prices from both for a special edition.

Thanks for the extra info, I probably should have posted I was looking at the 6-speed manual (been driving manual for 25 years).

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, because that wasn't the intent. I'm just trying to ensure I'm paying a "fair" price and not getting sucked into some "scheme".
