What are people paying for 05's?

I waited too late in the model year to get a great deal on a 2004 ( cannot not find correct color/equipment) I was wondering if any dealers are getting aggressive on the 05's yet. I am in the Portland, OR area and have not seen any advertised yet.

If you have access use the S-plan on the 05. Thats what I did. I paid invoice plus a doc fee. No haggle. Sweet. The sales guy hated the deal as it was his very first 05 delivered, fully loaded and he saw $$$ when I called him. NOT.

Here is what Mazda has to say:

The Mazda New Vehicle Purchase Plan is offered by Mazda North American Operations to encourage MNAO employees, retirees, their families and Mazda's business partners to drive new Mazda products. Vehicles may be purchased or leased from participating "franchised" Mazda Dealers authorized by the Mazda Dealer Agreement.

http://www.mazdausa.com/splan

Essentially it allows you buy a Mazda at invoice, hassle free.

If you were in N. Texas, i'd have just the perfect internet manager to send you to. His regular deal is 500 over invoice.

And the 99.9% of the rest of the US population pays the freight.

Seriously, business stinks, and there are the usual December deals, since showroom traffic dwindles around the holiday season. Just negotiate hard, and you'll do pretty good.

valpac, go back and get your money back for the doc fee. Per the FAQ for the S plan, Mazda does not allow any dealer fees.

Just last night I paid $34K even for my fully loaded, Titaniuim 6 sp, Navi, 6cd, spare tire, all-weather mats, spoiler, app. pkg. Took a while to get the guys to that price, but I think I did okay. (I could have tried to wear them down some more, but frankly, didn't care to haggle any more). I'm not a "bloodshed" type of bargaining gal, but when I gathered up my copious notes from the internet , and said I was going to Salem, they dropped a quick thousand. Also, showing them a check for $34K stating "paid in full" may have had something to do with it.

Sadly, that wont work. This is what I knew going into the deal. Read this.

I got a qoute for 28300 with tax and title for a 05 mt gt with no extras. ( and 1 free year of oil change, yay..j/k). This also included my 500 college rebate and 1500 buy back. The funny thing is my mom knows his mother,so maybe he's throwing the 1500 rebate for me. i thought the 1500 buy back was only for the 04 models!?

I too agree that we should have a database to evaluate how much ppl have pay for their 8's. I'm a newbie, so maybe there is allready one here..

That doesn't sound good. I paid dealer invoice for my 2004, it was GT with Navi and nothing else, and that came out to about the same price. So it looks like you're paying around $1500 over invoice.

Had identical quotes ($28,300) from several dealers about a month ago on the '04 (which I see you corrected from your original post.) So I don't think you're getting a "family friend" discount. The dealer from whom I purchased the car offered it (04 mt/gt) at $27,120. (No college rebate; I went to college a long, long time ago.)

If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest using Edmunds or CarsDirect to get bids from multiple dealers. It's a good way to cut the bulls**t and in my experience yields a lower overall price.

Given the interruption in production of the '05's, however, you may find that dealers are unwilling to deal on either the '04 or '05 as aggressively as they were a few weeks ago.

hey here's a quote i got after haggling for about 1 week: 2005 Whitewater pearl, GT package, appearance package, rotory accent package, navigation, 6 disc.

I'm in CA and I got it down to $31840 before taxes. How's that sound? I'm ready to pick it up if that makes sense for everyone. Please give me feed backs.

Thanks.

Don't know if that's with taxes or not, but some dealers are selling '05s at invoice.

Cool Internet price in San Francisco area

On 12/24 I purchased a White '05 AT with the Touring package for $29,500 including all taxes, licenses, and so forth -- out the door price. Car price before taxes, etc., was just over $27,000

Not bad, it seems to me, at a couple of hundred under invoice. The negotiations took almost a month, and there was some trouble with feature creep and a sudden surprise "$1500 price error" after giving a deposit, that almost killed the deal. After not reponding to the dealer's lame excuses for four days, they came back down to reality. Car dealers! Never changes, does it?

By the way, I contacted about 5 dealers via internet before finding one that cared. I started out with Edmunds.com and Carsdirect.com. most dealers just said, Call me. Two dealers quoted absolutely GREAT prices for 04 RX's but then one said he did not really have the car but did have another one that was quite different and a lot more expensive; the other one never responded when I said I wanted it. (Again, Car Dealers!) Finally I got one that cared enough to find the car I wanted rather than just try to sell me what they had. Not a bad car dealer. It was all an internet deal -- all the pricing, negotiating, agreements, and so forth, right up until I went to get the car, when I finally signed for it and wrote the checks.

:D

I got my '05 around the beginning of December. Snowflake white pearl, rear wing spoiler, sport package m/t, appearance package, all for $29,600 out the door. I was thinking of getting one with less options but I would have had to special order it and wait a while more. I'm very happy with the choice I made though. :D

I talked to a dealer this week. I was interested in the limited edition 05 Shinka. They start arriving next week. He has 3 on the boat right now and he is willing to sell me one at sticker right now. Says they plan to mark them up $3000 when they get them. Total is about $33,500. The Shinka is pretty loaded.

I'm thinking about producing a simple web database for just this purpose. I'm hoping to get it set up in a couple months since that sort of data would help me as well (I'm planning on buying an 8 sometime this year). I'll keep everyone posted.
