Used 2004 with 70k

I have been doing some research here on the forums and am still undecided. There is a used 2004 RX-8 for sale at a carmax near me for 14k with 70 thousand miles. Obviously I would need to make sure that the recalls are taken care of and find out about the service history but is there anything else I should do? also I have heard that there is a 8 year 100k mile warranty on the engine is that true? because my biggest hesitation here is the mileage.

Please give me your opinions on wheather or not this would be a good purchase I am worried about the reliability of the engine especially since I don't know how the previous owner treated it.

Thank you

Not knowing where you live...

I would say pass. The price is right for the model car and year. However I think you can get the same year and model with a lot lower miles or the same price.

Maybe autotrader with a 200 mile radius to see what is out there. Also Craigslist if a good source along with the for sale forum here.

Take care,

Brian

sry I live in Albuquerque NM I probably should have posted this in the first place

http://www.carmax.com/enUS/view-car/...3-d44de9b1492a

that is the car I am considering. I am not in a huge rush to buy so if I decide that I want an 8 I would be willing to wait and watch for a bit but at the moment there are not that many for sale around here (I have checked Autotrader and Craigslist)

I got my 2004 GT with 60k on it for $11k. I bought it in January of 2007. I say you should wait till around December because the prices will fall because of the season.

True but I do think I could get one with lower miles. I plan on paying cash and keeping this car for a long time so I don't want the engine dying on me and not being under warranty.
