Trading in AT

I'm on my way to the dealership to trade my AT in for a 6spd. I test drove a 6spd the other day and fell in love with the short shifter, and the extra power.

It has 33000 on it. Anyway I get to the dealership and I almost bought one of the new mazdaspeed6. I was about to get it until he told me it is 630 a month, I only pay 505 on my rx8, so thats quite a little jump so I am thinking it over. Let me know what you guys think. By the way the only way I can get a manual at the same price that I am paying right now is to get one without the appearance package, without the wing, and without the leather. I don't like the look of the 8 without the appearance package and the wing. I can do without the leather. BTW I am really liking that mazdaspeed6, I think I might go 4 it.

mazdaspeed6 is a sweet car, and its turbo charged which is amazin, but 8's are amazing cars and its so sweet to ride in. Yea the appearance pkg, and the spoiler is important to me too, so i dont know. I'd say stick with the 8, but hey it's you're money

^^ and now you took mine...

boy you must be having fun.

Back on track. I'd say if you want a manual go for the trade. As long as your not in tough stop and go traffic, you will be happier with a manual. I'm looking to do this as well.

He's from NJ...what else do you expect him to do since he dropped out of school at the age of 12?

Nothing beats a RWD setup with a balanced chassis.

Test drive the MS6 and tell us what you think. If you were happy with your RX8's handling, you'll love it even more with a 6 speed. IT is more interactive and as a bonus you get to experience the 9500rpm redline that you originally missed out on. You'll also love the engine braking where most AT miss out on.

Just get the RX8 6 speed. You'll never look back.

Goodluck with your choice. It's your money. BUT you'll miss out on the warm RX8 owner community

Do you want a sports car, or a sport sedan? I definitely like the MS6. I am not ready for a sedan quite yet, but the MS6 would be high on my list if I was.

Have you considered a Legacy GT? Turbo flat-4 with a standard transmission available until last year. The Subaru AWD system (I believe) is more rear-wheel biased than the MS6. Plus, a 2004/2005 is much cheaper than a brand new MS6.

an MS 6 is still a 6.. It sits a little too high for my tastes. Also, if $150 a month difference between the two made you give it second thoughts, keep in mind the MS6's insurance rates may be higher as well.

I did it, I traded in my AT winning blue 8 for a 6spd titanium gray. It really is a big difference in power.

When I bought the 6spd it had 19008 miles it is a 2004 it came with the appearance package, and polished rotary accent, for 19800. The AT had 33700 miles when I traded it.

Does anyone else think of Terrance & Phillip anytime they see or hear the name Terrance or Phillip? Haha, I'm an idiot.

Hey Terrance, there's a quarter in my bum, can you get it out?

Hey ngorx8 did you trade it with the Auto-bahn kit, intake, and spoiler? And what color and options do you have now?

no actually, I had my kit, intake, spoiler, exhaust, and spoiler all ready to put on the automatic, but I ended up waiting. The pic on my avatar and my signature is what I have now. I kept my automatic stock the whole time.
