That's a crock. They are lying to you. S-Plan is usually DEALER INVOICE + 300 dollars or so. NOT STICKER. Call the dealers around you and ask if they are accepting the S-Plan for the RX-8's, if so, what will it cost for you with the items you want.

The dealership you have already spoken to simply thinks you are bluffing about having S-plan discout privelleges.

Hi RX-jimenez,

If a salesman at one dealer refuses S-plan, just try calling up a few other dealers. The guidelines say that you should really have your pin # ready and present it when you enter the dealership:

"The participant should immediately identify himself/herself to the dealer as being eligible for the S-Plan and present a copy of the printed PIN Certificate to the dealer. This ensures the proper S-Plan price will be given to the participant. The S-Plan price is located on the left side of the vehicle invoice. This price is before tax, licence and applicable incentives are applied."

more info is at below link: https://portal.mazdausa.com/prod/ema...splan_info.htm

If you were already talking to a salesman who thought he might make a sale (and commission), I'm not surprised that he tried to BS you in the hopes that you would believe him. It's a good thing you didn't believe him.

The S-Plan is a "no haggle" price. The dealer either participates in the program or they don't. Once you tell them that you are eligible for the plan and show them your PIN, there is no haggling over price. The price is on their invoice records and it is about invoice + a few hundred dollars.

There's also another thing. Since the plan sets the price pretty much to invoice, the salesman will not get much commision. Therefore, most S-plan dealings wil be handled by the fleet or the sales manager. I was advised by a sales manager on a Mazda dealership to go directly to those people if I want to deal with the S-plan pricing.

You know you can get the "fixed" S-Plan pricing on the web right?

The S-Plan is invoice price. No more No Less. Most dealers will work with you. If the dealer won't go for it, walk away!!

Actually, the S-Plan price is below invoice, al be it only slightly. But who cares ... The fact that it IS so close, makes it a good deal for such a good selling car.

By the way, dealers do NOT have to participate in the program. So, as it has been said in the thread, if the Dealer you are talking to doesn't give you S-Plan pricing, go to a different Dealer. It's worth it to save the $$$$$

Hi Guys,

I just purchased my 8 last week using S-Plan and I do know that it is under invoice as I personally know the owner of the dealership. He indicated that yes it is voluntary and yes it is under by about $200 and that Mazda reimburses the dealership on the back side. But you do need to identify yourself as an S Plan user and provide the pin number. The cool thing is that you can view all of the inventories and S-Plan pricing via the Ford Partners website. All you need to do is find the vehicle equipped as you like and then contact that dealer.

Good luck!

Splan pricing is $26 below invoice. At present there is not a rebate on the RX-8. There is a $1500 incentive on leases only. We do honor the Splan on RX8's, so if you want to PM me with what you are looking for, I'll let you know if we have one. Austin isn't any farther than Dallas.

You can still get the rebates or any special on top of the S-Plan pricing.

I got the S-Plan price then also received my $500 college graduation rebate on top of that.

It sounds like this dealer is just trying to rip you off.

I would go to another dealer and buy at the S-plan price, get your rebate, and go home happy.

Then I would drive back to the salesman who is trying to rip you off (in your new 8) pretend you wanted to go to the parts dept or some BS like that. ANd when he sees you tell him you paid $1000 over invoice somewhere else solely because you felt his customer service was bad.

Or you can tell him the truth. Tell him you just went to John Doe Mazda and got the S-Plan pricing plus rebate incentives. Make sure you say it pretty loud in front of other customers. Make sure you emphasize (loudly) that John Doe Mazda accepts the S-Plan "unlike your dealership" and that it was a very quick, no haggle deal. Then point at the 8 that the customer is looking at and say "wow, John Doe Mazda has one just like this! And wow look at your dealer markup! I paid $4000 less than what your asking."

I did forget about the college grad rebate if it applies to your case, and it would be subtracted off the Splan price. The details on the grad rebate are available on the Mazda web site.

Most of the Dallas area dealerships are now honoring S-Plan, so it sounds like your best bet would be to:
1. Go to fordpartners.com to get your PIN and print out the S-plan price list
2. Find a dealer you are comfortable with in either Dallas or Austin and buy it that way.

RX-jimenez, I bought mine with the S plan last month. If you haven't already done so, print out the FAQ at the Ford Partner web site. It tells you everything you need to know.

Call the dealers before you even leave the house. Ask for the sales manager and let him know that you are S plan, will he work with you. If not call the next dealer.

Remember, the S plan is going to apply only to the car as it was delivered and invoiced by Mazda. Try to find a dealer with the car exactly as you want it equipped. The dealer might give you S plan for dealer options, but they don't have to.

Any legitimate dealer will show you the invoices. The S Plan price will be towards the bottom of the invoice and will be a number embedded inside some codes that will start with an S.

Most important - there are no delaer fees with S plan. Your cost is the S Plan price + tax + tag. Do not accept any fees for prep, docs, markup etc because they are not allowed under the S plan.

Good luck.

Enjoy.
