Still a good deal on 2004 rx-8?
I will buy the 8 in about a week. And I've done quite a bit of calling around and researching to get the best deal as I can possibly get.
From numerous dealers I called and checked out, some of them would offer me msrp and no less which I laughed at and hung up,
and some of them gave me quite a good deal.
One dealer quoted $100 below invoice with 3months free gas(pretty good considering the gas price!!), and 1year extended warranty on power train without any deductibles.
Is that a good deal on the 2004 rx-8?
I am saying this because its June now and 2005 models are coming out around December. Is it considered a very good deal around this time of year when 2004 models have been sitting in the lot for about a year?

I think that is a good deal. I got mine two weeks ago for $300 below invoice, but no free gas or extended powertrain warranty was included. I would recommend doing the deal if all all the other components work out OK (trade-in and interest rate, both if applicable).

You may not get much off the sticker price but I've found you can typically get the warranty and some accessories thrown in. If you have a trade that has a bigger variable to the total dollars , I found $1000 differance between dealers. So you have to look at the overall dollars .
Picking my new 8 up in about 4 hours .
