When I bought my 8 yesterday, they had a special deal for all 05 RX-8's. The deal was 8 free tire replacements, 100,000 mile 4 year warranty, and 3 free oil changes. The dealer said it was worth 2500 and he kept mentioning this when we were bargaining the price. I told him the 8 free tires didn't really matter since I was getting winter tires anyways, but what do you guys think of this promotion?

 

Since most of the tires that dealers stock are a P.O.S., I seriously doubt this is worth $2500. The 8 comes with a 4 year warranty anyways (not sure about the mileage so 100k may be a bonus). Oil changes are $20-30 a pop or cheaper if you DIY.

Definitely not worth $2500.

 

I was offered a "special deal" on finish protection, etc: a "$1500 value" for free. They do this so you can think you are getting a good deal, even if they keep the sale price higher. In my experience, these deals cost the dealer very little, and are worth just about that.
