well i was hoping to buy an 8 from a fellow member on here, but it appears as if the chances of him selling drastically dropped. so i found another 8. it's an '04 GT. new motor put in, new clutch, two 10" sub in the trunk, and Kenwood DVD/ NAV system, new pads, rotors, and new tires, all fluids recently changed. the motor was put in by mazda. he has a clean title on hand. he has the records of the motor from mazda. the setup in the trunk seems pretty clean. he has iPod hookup. it has 64k miles, but only 4k miles on the motor. he's asking $11k i'm going to see it tomorrow and was wondering what i should look for? questions i should ask him? sounds i should hear for when test driving. how the ride should feel. etc. all input will be great. links to pictures are below (hopefully they work). thanks in advance.!

I haven't owned an 8 that long but the main thing to look out for in these cars thats different is the engine. Seeing how that one is replaced 4k miles ago I wouldn't think you have that much to worry about as long as he broke it in properly. Other then that treat the rest of it like any other used car.

 

yeah he definitely knows how to take care of a rotary. he was explaining like what you must do (warming up engine. dont go high revs when it's not fully warmed, etc etc.) i knew this, but i was just like alright. so definitely well taken care of. gave him the deposit earlier today. so it's secure for this weekend.
