Some questions about the 8

I got to test drive an rx8 this past weekend. Wow!

However the sales person was pretty clueless when it came to some of the questions I had. So I was wondering if anyone could help me out:

1. It was mentioned that there is a tire pressure monitoring system. Is this an active system (so i can view tire pressure at any time from the dash) or is it just when tire pressure is low? How accurate is it?

2. Whats the standard flash level of the 05's? K? L? M?

3. It comes with a pollen/dust filter. Are there any aftermaket filters or mods to improve performance of the filtration (ive got bad seasonal allergies)? I was thinking of adding a charcol layer to keep the air clean (i also live near a few cement factories that pump all kinds of junk in the air)

4. I live in south Texas where it gets blazzzing hot. I'm worried about the car overheating or stressing due to the heat. What mod do you recommend to aid in keeping the engine cool? Is there a certain oil I should use? (Redline?)

5. When I go to inspect the car, what shoud I look for aside from body defects? Are there any notorious engine problems I should try to exploit on the test ride?

I plan on getting a 05 Titan Grey MT GT.

Thanks!

TPMS is not active, only rings in when pressure is low, seems accurate - when the light is on = your tire is low.

Nobody could tell you the 'standard' flash level of an '05, probably not even a dealer.

Std filter is just a 'dustcatcher', not fine, no pollen removal. There is an optional upgrade that removes ODORS, it isn't charcoal based, it's an Aldehyde filter, very advanced.

The engine won't get stressed from heat, it does a lot of it's cooling thru its two oil coolers, and it seems OK in Australia, even though they only get one cooler.

No one has had any problems just using the oil specified in the owners manual -5W20, SL rated, minimum.

I don't think there are any engine problems to look out for, but if you can't live with 17mpg, or you think it is seriously lacking torque on your test drive, please buy a 350Z, because I don't want to hear about it!
