S-Plan truely that helpful?

Not that I have access to it, (unless one of you would be so gracious as to supply me with such access :D ) but does the S-Plan really save you move money than you could get from just negotiating? Or can you haggle down to the price if you just play the game right?

S-Plan gets you an incredible price (I think 1-2% BELOW invoice) without any negotiation.

whether that by itself is worth it to you, is totally up to you :P

yes, well worth it. Just to not have to deal with the haggleing back and forth is great. If you work for a large company, that has a large fleet, sometimes they will let employees and associates buy off the S plan.

It is definitely worth it. My S-plan price was below the invoice. I just walked in, told them the options I wanted, and they found it for me. No haggling, no discussions, it was really easy. Plus, I'm seeing ads for invoice now, because 2005's will be coming out really soon and the fiscal year is coming to an end.

It's a special pricing plan offered to those who work for Mazda. Those people can also pass on the S-Plan pricing to family and friends. Supposedly, it offer the cars very close to cost.

I test drove the one I want, Velocity red, MT6, sports pkg, 6CD,Spare tire, rear spoiler, MSRP 3100, S-plan price, 27100. plus Mazda Owner loyalty, -$500. S-plan is below invoice.

don't forget about the E-plan as well...

and the $250 REV-IT-UP coupon.

in theory, recent grad discount + RIU coupon + S-Plan would drop you to $750 below invoice w/ ZERO haggling.

What a coincidence, I have the S plan pricing sheet up right now.

The S plan price for a 6MT RX 8 is $24633, a little over 2K off of MSRP, and E plan is 5.3% less than S plan, or $23395. Options/packages are 20% off MSRP for S plan, sorry I dont know the E plan price.

I was going to use the S plan through my work, but my uncle works for Ford, and gets the E plan. I dont qualify for the E plan (nephews only qualify for S, which I already have). But my mom, her brother in law qualifies for the E plan. So im just going to have my mom put the car in her name as the primary owner, I will be the secondary on the title and save my self another $1500.

I would post the pricing sheet, but its in PDF format, which cant be posted on the forum.

S-plan is basically the same as invoice price. I think you could get the same deal by negotiating but with the S-plan you don't have to , you just give them the pin number and they write up what you want and then you can still negotiate the interest rate etc... I used S-Plan.... just made my life easier, I wouldn't have paid much more than invoice anyways so it might've saved me a couple hundred dollars and I'm sure if I had tried I could've gotten a couple hundred lower than invoice but it wasn't important at that point, the no hassle was worth it to me.

E-plan is the employee discount, it is lower than S-plan as someone else mentioned. I think it's a couple % off of invoice, that would be a good deal.

Unfortunately my S-plan did not apply to my strakes... damn expensive little decorations.... but worth every penny. :D

No, he cant. Below is from the Ford Partner site.
Well, actually the only way he could, is if he is on your title. But most dealerships are a little scetchy with that because they know you're "working" the system.

Vehicles may not be registered or titled in the name of a business.

Partner employees may use up to two PINs a year for eligible vehicles registered to themselves or their spouses.

Vehicles leased under the Red Carpet Lease Option will be titled in the name of Ford Credit or as directed by Ford Credit, but must conform to the above registration requirements.

Vehicles must be retained in the customer's possession and registered as provided above for at least six months from the date of purchase or lease.

E-plan? I'm a Ford engineer and I've never heard of that (maybe it's for Mazda employees only, but I doubt it). We get S-plan, which is just a tad above dealer invoice. As a Ford employee, any members of my immediate family, including in-laws and grandparents, can get the S-plan price. There is a "friends and neighbors" plan for Ford vehicles (X-plan), but I'm not sure if it applies to Mazda vehicles. By the way, I find it highly doubtful that any purchase plan gets you less than invoice. Even our Ford A-plan is basically invoice price. Why would the dealership want to lose money on a sale?

Youre right. My uncle who works for Ford told me he does not get the E- Plan (Mazda's equivalent to Ford's A Plan). So Ill have to use my S Plan (Mazda's equivalent to Ford's X plan) through my work.

Oh well, still a deal.
