Question S-Plan with Trade. Anyone try it?

I got my pin # yesterday. So, has anyone tried using the S-Plan with a trade-in? If so, how did you go about with the deal? Details please..

1) Make sure dealer knows you are buying with the S-plan when you walk in (or maybe call the fleet mgr.) .
2) Make sure you have the S-plan form from the website (I didn't have this and may not have gotten some sort of "Stairstep Incentive" )
3) Remember that dealers are now competing for your business based on trade-in allowance, not purchase price. shop your trade-in around at participating S-plan dealers (I ended up with $1,300 more for my trade this way )

4) Let me know what the "Stairstep Incentive" is when you are done! :D

Yes, getting the S-Plan is possible, but only if the dealer agrees to it before hand. They have the option to honor it or not.

Thanks guys. It looks like I maybe one of the first to try this deal out. I'll keep the forum up-to-date on what happens. I have a feeling, though, that I may end up with more grey hairs after this.

I bought an 8 today with S Plan. I had a 2002 cavalier with a dent in side door. I was hopeing for at least $6000 trade in. I received $5200. I paid $28862 for 1GT package so there was no room for funny trade in value. It will cost you to trade but you do not have the selling hassle and you save a little on sales tax. I would think you should sell a vette yourself though.

hemmingway,
thanks for the heads up.. It's good to know that I may have a chance to trade with S-Plan. BUT, it's not the vette I'm trading. HELL NO!! That's a keeper for me. I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra that I don't use as much anymore and it eats way more gas than the RX8. So, it's the truck I'm getting rid of..
