If a want to order a new 8, when will be the best time regarding the 2005 models? Is there a time line on this, that is known? Can you get options, just the ones you want or do they come only in the package forms with certian add-ons.

They should be out in Aug or Sept....there aren't going to be any changes....so don't sweat it...unless you absolutely have to have an 05....

 

when 05s come out would 04s be tad cheaper?

 

traditionally speaking, when the new year model is released the dealers are forced to move the current years models off the lot in a hurry. They receive bonuses from corporate for meeting their quotas in moving out the older model. In Mazda's case with the RX-8 I would actually doubt seeing any significant price reductions to move the 8 as they are selling right on par if not better for the year than planned.

 

One of the sales managers at a dealership I visited said there are a couple of changes planned for the '05 model, but they are strictly cosmetic. He said little things like the type of door handle inside the car, etc. The most significant change he mentioned is that they will probably offer a new color - Opal.

 

I really hope they lower the prices of the 04's when the 05's come out, because I am planning to buy an rx8 around august or september. I'll keep my fingers crossed...
