RX-8 Insurance***4door coupe?

The RX-8 is classified as a 4 door coupe through my agency. The symbol is the same as a 1997 Maxima. I know that because I traded mine in on an RX-8. On a scale of 10-27 the RX-8 is rated as a 20 which is average. I work for a major insurance company in TN. If anyone has insurance questions post them below and I can help. If you need insurance in TN, I can also help.

Yes it's been beaten to death. And most insurance questions on here are people asking how much their insurance would be if they got the RX-8. And asking other members what they pay like the premiums are comparable.

I had Farmers and Safeco.
Both have been pretty good to me.

American Family says my car is a 4 door 2-cylinder 1.3L economy car. So I get insured accordingly.

My 4.0L I-6 jeep wrangler costs almost twice what the RX-8 does to insure.

Seems to work to the owners' advantage that no one, even insurance companies, seems to know wtf an RX8 is. Here's to hoping for a 4-door 3-cylinder 2.0L economy car in 2011!

Well in Canada they seem to have it right.
Cuz they rate it almost the same as the G35 coupe, 350Z and Civic Si.

The State of New Jersey says I have a 2-door because the rear doors will not open independently of the front doors. I was rather surprised that the DMV person actually knew this.
