returning policy?

Hi all,

I am just curious. Does anyone know if Mazda (Canada or USA) has a set timeframe from the day you make the purchase in which you can return your car?

I can't find it on their website

I am asking this because when i bought the car, I could not test drive it. And I was told that I can return the car before a certain day if I don't like it.

i just want to make sure if my dealer was being honest

thanks

WHOA! Who told you this? If you purchased the car before August 26th or something like that, you should have been registered with mazda Canada.

They would have sent you a letter asking if you wanted the $500 cheque and free maintenance or to take advantage of the buyback offer.

This letter had to be signed and returned on or before October 1st.

It's most probably too late now. Do you not like the way it drives? You didn't have a test drive? They HAVE to give you a test drive if you request it, it will be on the feedback form you get from Mazda.

I'm sorry but I think your dealer saw you coming on this one. Hope you love the car!

Perhaps it was a dealer-only thing? You need to contact your dealer, because Mazda isn't taking them back any more. Some dealers now do a no-questions asked return period, but you'd have to speak to yours to see if that's the case.

Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but your salesman lied to you. Unless you got this return policy in writing, you will not be able to return the car. Some state allow a "cooling off period" for new car purchases, but it is usually 3 days or less.

Why couldn't you test drive the car? Personally, I would never buy anything for $30K without a thourough inspection first.

Why return? The car you own is one to love! Gosh, I would not return an 8 once I'd get one.

Sorry i should be more clear

I LOVE MY CAR TO DEATH!

i asked the question is because i started to believe that my dealer is some what sketchy, I was trying to find what they said to me is true of if they only said it to get me to buy a car.

They've done some other sketchy stuff along the way that's not very professional (ie the sales guy actually called my house to ask why i gave him bad followup review) etc

ahh....interesting, well, I'd suggest you do what you gotta do to fix the problem, well, in your case, returning the car... I'm just curious if you'd be getting another 8 though in the future from another dealer?

Just for future reference, EVERYTHING said by a car salesman has one goal: TO SELL YOU A CAR! Most salesmen will lie, cheat and steal to sell a car. Unless this "return policy" is in writing, you were played.
