um, on the mazdausa updated-for-05 website, it says that the base price for an 05 rx8 is:

MSRP: $27,420*.


how much did the raise it?

Not much. The $27,420 MSRP includes destination charges. The '04 MSRP was $27,200 ($26,680 + $520 destination charge).
