QUICK HELP! Purchaseing tonight!

Aight, hey guys, its time! I'm getting MY RX8!
(Black, 2 tone leather (red), gt, a/t, spoiler, appearance, rotary accent.)

Heres the deal: my dad says that i will NOT walk outta the dealership with a car tonight.
Although he says this because we won't be putting a check down, or something. Yadda Yadda.

Question is:
What exactly did you do to walk outta the dealership with YOUR rx8!?

Please post quick! Only hrs away now!

Also he said that it will take a week or 1.5 weeks to get the appearance mods in, then a day to put them in...really that long!?.
Anyways, if any of you had this same sitchuation, did you take the car for the week and give it in? Or did you leave it to them for a week and then pick it up completely finished. (Dad says its better to take it completely done.)

PLS POST!!! GO GO!

Also, mikeB,
what are "Hid, tint, lojack"?

Yes i'm young, a prime 17. Although more mature then the other punks out there. I'm just VERY VERY excited.

New car. Black. 2 tone. What more can you ask for?

Please tell me what lojack and hid are?

Also how much did the tints from dealer cost!?

In Canada, if you get the car with the appearance accessories at delivery (ie: when you pick it up) they are warrantied for 3 years. If you take the car stock and then go back later for them, the warranty is 1 year.

My dealer had the accessories on in 3 days (including delivery).

Tint was cheap IMO... about $300CAD or so for the back and passenger windows. The 8 looks awesome with a tinted back window; I highly recommend it.

This may be too late to ask, but you guys already set a price for the car? The only reason you wont take it home is cause you have to wait for the stuff to go on right? Just be patient, better to have everything on the car than to have to wait and take the car back to get it installed and crap like that. Enjoy!

Wait a second, putting down 500-1000 or possibly more... that's it? Hmm wouldn't the interest on that sucker make it super high? Would they even take 1000 down?

17 years old, getting this car, man, like the other people said, you should be lucky to even drive a 30k+ car at your age. Personally, I bought my old Civic, and then the RX-8 myself... didn't want my parents to whine to me that they got me this and that. Besides, it's much more impressive when you tell the ladies, ya I bought it myself,.. instead of.. "Ya, I wanted an XBox this year, and some neato Transformers, but I asked my mommy and daddy to buy me this car so I can drive cool."

When I use to run my Civic Si, people that had better looking cars/faster cars would try to make me feel bad by comparing their's to mine, then I would bust out the... "At least my parents didn't have to buy my car for me." That usually shuts them up.

I do have to admit that I usually pick on the younger drivers on the road sometimes. When I see that student driver, I would weave between lanes, cut them off, force stops in front of them, hit my fake brake light, smack! Oh btw, where's this 17 year old kid residing?

Get Titanium grey... Black doesn't stand out as much, and besides, isn't that the point of this car? To stand out from the crowd.

Tell the dealer to throw in Strakes as well, makes a difference, might as well since you're getting the other appearence stuff.

Snow+RX-8=Ouchy...

I would have thought an SUV would be more appropriate where you live, so many of them here in Cali, and not much use for it on simple street/highway driving.

Buying a new car isn't half as stressful as buying your first home yourself, or starting your own business, or managing the multitude of female "friends" you have to manipulate once you get your sweet **** RX-8.

I've already started my own buisness. www.surreal-media.com

i know how stressful that is, yet this one seems to equal or surpass that o_O.

I think i'm going for gray w/2tone red interior.. what do you all think about that?

For some odd reason, the Red/Black leather interior I saw in person looked more like "Orange/Black"... pretty ghetto. Maybe it was the light... but you should definitely check the car out first... test drive, etc etc etc... and then tell your dad, It's ok dad, you make the 1k downpayment, and I'll pay for the rest of the car myself.

it was light

i've sat in the car many times. (took it home for a 2 day test drive).. dealership test drives.. etc etc.

Red looks awesome.

Although will it look good with the gray!?

I think it might. i started a forum post for it in the media / gallery for anyone to post their pics, and i saw one.. didn't look to bad, check it out and tell me what u think

IMO red/black is the way to go, if you seriously cant decide and think either is fine, then dont worry about the interior color, if you obviously dont care. forget what others think, and just get what you want. Or get the one with less miles, or the one you can get a better deal on. This is going to be your car, not ours:-D knock yourself out.
