Sure there is a chance. They will get it a few days after it arrives at their local "port". No one is really sure when that will be, and it is hard ot track accurately. As tyhe process goes on they will have a better idea.

On a side note, did you agree to a ful list deal or did they agree to a discount?

special orders usually take about 2 months. i ordered my 2005 in march and got it in may- and that was after they rebuilt the plant.

i think they're giving u a conservative estimate. always easier to make u happy with it getting in earlier than later than expected.

You better hope there won't be a repeat of the Cougar Ace incident.

The Cougar Ace was/is a ship that carries cars from Japan to North America. It ran aground about 2 yrs ago with mostly CX7's, 3's and 6's on board. It took on water and some of the cars had to be scrapped by the insurance company. They were tied down, but the ship went almost on it's side and there were some damage. Some by salt water and some by cars breaking loose & sliding into one another.

That seemed to me like it was a LOT more recently. Is there any chance another ship carrying imports went down a few months ago??

The Cougar Ace is the failboat.

You should google the article of the guys who went in to salvage the boat, its pretty epic.

Not 100% sure, but I would think it would be identical. Congrats on the car, can't wait to see pics.

My owner's manual cover just says it's for the 2009 Mazda RX-8, nothing about it being for an R3. Everything's pretty generic inside the manual, with different details for the various options of the RX-8 (manual, automatic, nav, no nav, etc). Hope this helps.
