Offers keep coming

Just got another offer. Winning Blue, Spoiler, appearance package, rotary package, 6 cd, spare tire, stickered at 29,800 for $24,700. This patience is paying off but I am still going to give it a couple of days. Thoughts on offer?

The best deals I've heard about recently on this forum are around 1K under invoice. I just got back from putting a deposit on a Green RX-8 at my local dealer for roughly $1200 under invoice -- looks like I sign the final paperwork later this week, but the buyer's order has been signed so the price is set.

Just as a heads up, I've been told by three different people at three different dealerships (including the one I'm buying from) that there is $1000 in dealer cash on the RX-8 (think rebate to dealer, they might not want to acknowledge that it exists, they're not required to tell you AFAIK). Factor that into your numbers.

Cheers

Thanks for the headsup! Where do you find the invoice price? I am looking for low 24's, 23's if possible as long as it has the Sports package because of the dcs, spoiler and 6 speed manual. I don't care if it has a moonroof, etc...

Man if this is true I suggest you get your *** over there and buy it. With a sticker price of 29800, and a selling price of 24700, do the math. That's WAYYY below invoice. Are you sure the sticker price is 29800? That is simply by far the greatest deal I have ever seen. I know this car is selling for 1k-1500 below invoice but that far exceeds $1500 below invoice price. For what you are looking for I have the exact edmunds invoice for you. Winning Blue 6MT with sport package, 6 disc changer, spoiler, appearance package, rotary accent package, and spare tire kit. MSRP $30579, Invoice $28102. For a Winning Blue 6MT with sport package and spoiler: MSRP: $28755 Invoice: $26496. If the same deal applies to your original quote, you can get the 6MT with sport package and spoiler for 24k or below, which would be around $2500 below invoice or more assuming dealer quote is accurate, and they are offering 2k+ below invoice with a possible cash back offer. Let us know the exact quote you get, and if you can pull off a 2-3k below invoice deal, which I doubt anyone has before on a brand new rx8, your patience has more then paid itself off. I'd be shocked if you could walk out with a brand new rx8 for 3k below invoice, and I just don't think it's possible, but I'd love for you to prove me wrong. Good luck!!

I spoke to the guy personally on the phone and thats what he quoted. I told him the other 2 offers from two different dealers. Velocity red, GT package, spoiler, no nav, sticker 32+ for 27,400 and the other deal was Nordic Green, no package, spoiler, 6 cd, spare tire, stickered 29+ for 25,160. These guys got so many damn RX8's I think they deals are getting prime. They have to get rid of this stock and they have a willing buyer. I am being real cautious though. i know all about price quotes and when you get there they throw in hidden fees, high APR etc. I will go in preapproved with a copy of the quoted price fro his email and go from there. i will let you know what I worked out if I do it.

Yes, I have 4 dealers working and the one I visited had at least 8 on a lot and said he had another lot down the road with more. They have to do something. Good job though. That deal you got is unreal...

Dude!! That's almost $6k below invoice. Unless it was some sort of demo model with miles on it, there isn't a chance in hell you got that kind of deal on a brand new model. Not to stir up trouble, but I have to raise the flag. The invoice price is $30341, and you are saying you got car for $24700? Sorry, there is no way in hell any of should buy this story, because it reeks of total BS.

Maybe that was it. Demo with a couple thousand miles. I can tell you those offers I listed are legit. That Nordic Green stickered at 29+ was offered to me for 25,160(saw this one in person) and on the phone the winning blue stickered at 29,800 was offered for 24,700 but without seeing it in person I am not going to say that offer was valid yet. I am still withholding judgement until I sign the papers because who knows what these dealers are thinking and what they think they can add in if they can just get me there. I have to travel so i have warned them all that the dealer I decide to go to needs to be ready to close the deal due to my travel distance but thats not a guarantee with some shady dealers either.

Oh and I know sticker is not invoice. I expect close to 2K under invoice if I am patient enough. They have two many 04s and its cruunchtime.

Oh I believe you. I paid at invoice in February, so 2k below is definitely achievable with the right dealer who is desparate to get rid of their 04 models. The guy who claims 6k below invoice is just full of it, and I don't even see a demo model going for that, unless it had a lot of miles on it, or had some cosmetic issues. It might be the funniest thing I have ever heard on this thread. No doubt whatever happens, you are gonna cash in on the patience, and get a super deal on a leftover 04. This is the ultimate time to buy an 04.

I hope. This forum isn't helping. My patience is thinner the more I read on here how much you folks love your cars I won't let the dealer know that but dammit I am up at 0250 in the morning on this forum so that should tell you something, ha!

I feel ya. I recently bought an 04 STI as second car on a closeout deal, and I was supposed wait til next year, but I was up all night thinking about it so I caved in on the dealers 800 below invoice price. If I were you I'd wait it out so you can find a 6k below invoice deal on a winning blue GT with navigation. :D

It has to be a demo model for that price. The killing point for the dealers is the Nav.. they don't like to budge on the price on that. Mine was 30.9 sticker, Paid 27.5 back in November... GT brand new. Just when I thought I had a good deal.. ack! Oh wells.. it's only a few thousand.

No demo, it was brought up here from L.A. but yes that's the price. Of course when your going to hand the dealer 75% down that makes them want to deal a bit more. And again. I got that price from the dealer in L.A. that had the car. So I think we both squeezed my local dealer a bit.. , He really had to compete or he knew i would drive the 100+ miles to get it else where.

It sounds like some of you paid way to much !!

Car invoices are crap. They mean nothing. And the dealer can sell the car for what ever he wants. This is my 5th new car buy. And everyone of those new car buys were bought for very low prices. You have to have some patience. Do your home work, Find out how much there paying for the car. Not invoice !

Ohh and don't think my $24700 price was with tax and licenses fees.. !!!

And I have heard of some dealers getting 35+ for the same GT .. people give up to fast.

When ever i buy a car a make sure i have at least 6 months to make the buy.

And what invoice are you looking at. ? base price on my sticker in my hand says 26,680
so i only got them down buy 1980.00 what i did get was basicly a GT for standard price.
yes with nav. they did whine at me about that. Because by ther standards they were giving it to me. but what was really happing was they were adding to ther monthly sales total without messing up there own inventory. So dont give in

You need to check your paperwork at every step. Dealer fees can creep in at any time. It's not enought to double check all the math on the sales order that the salesman hands you. You need to check it all again when you're sitting with the finance guy.

Early on the dealers were asking $4k in dealer fees and some people were paying. Around here, most dealers (all brands, not just Mazda) have a $799 dealer fee preprinted on their invoices and balk like crazy about taking it off, but they will.
