My deal -w SPlan $25,694

-04 Velocity Red
-G/T package. black leather
-6sp
-Nav

Car is in PA. Im doing an AVP lease for 30 mos.

No other options. Just how I wanted it.

MSRP $33,100
SPlan: $30,194
Rebates: $4,500 (3500+1000) *Lease and MAC rebates

Total: $25,694

Now is the time to buy an 8. Hell, if you arent picky, wait till the new year...the incentives may get even sweeter. The .58 residual surpriced me, these cars seem to hold ther value well. Thats higher than the residual on my bosses 530 BMW. Which seems hard to believe....

Tomorrow is the big day for me

The residual on a 4-year lease is about .45, so .58 at the end of three years sounds right.

Good luck and

Congrats you two! Hopefully I'll be able to add my new acquisition to this board by next Friday! (Fully loaded '05 with nav and 6 cd Titanium w/blk leather) IF they'll give it to me for 33K cash.

Well the dealer wasted my time and brought me down too!

The first RX8 I saw was listed at $32,300 ($29,500 or so with S-Plan). The payment he first came out with I almost vomited on him...$699 per month!!!!!

I was like what the heck, NO WAY!

Note: I told the lady that I wanted to pay $330 or less and I feel like I wasted my time today because they said it was possible (SO WHY CALL ME AND TELL ME IT CAN BE DONE!!!!!!!)

They then told me if I could pay $400...NO, I said "$330 or less and you said it could be done...that's why I came!!!!!"

So, I was upset at the time...so upset, that I went and cheated on the RX8 with an 05 Mustang GT. I said, forget the RX8...it's out of my league, it can't be done...so I should not buy it...PERIOD!

I test drove the Mustang and the V8 sounds great. The overall quality is much better than standard FORD stuff but:

Interior is OK, but the door panels are VERY CHEAP!
People who sit in the back or babies(when GOD blesses us with one) would be in the sun and cramped. The rear seats are better than the old Mustang but not even close to the comfort of the RX8 rear seats.

So, while I loved the (the cars looks are growing on me) V8 and tough looks, well...most of it....some of it still looks blah blah. I said, naaa...the rear seats lack headroom, knee room, and your head will be baked by the sun...I'll pass.

I also concluded, that I could not afford a Mustang either.

So, here I am...dejected and force to WAIT or give up on the RX8. WAIT means I'll have to wait till next year April for a used RX8 for $23,000 (TTT, out the door, everthing...FINAL PRICE) to finance $18,000 which will give me the payment I'm looking for...and that's at 8% financing if I can't get that...then the DREAM IS DEAD!!!!!

No RX8 for me...not now, not later...DONE! Scion tC...here I come???

Sorry, I'm a little down right now...so forgive my ranting.

I hope Malloy had better luck!

Malloy I assume your payment, like most people here, is in the 400's. I would just like to know how many people are under $350 and how many are over $350 monthly payment.

Also, why? Big down payment...great credit...etc?

If you want under $400/month, find a place who will loan you $25K on 84month loan, under 6%

There's a 98% chance I'll be paying $25K + Tax, lic today, on an 04 Silver, 6sp, Sports+Appearence today.

Be patient, man. Get exactly what you want and be happy for the long-haul. You're in the ballpark so it's just a matter of time and luck.

My payment is $540. I put a G down, and I have a 30 month AVP lease. The catch: they absorbed over $5k in negative equity on my trade in. Long story, but it was the right thing for me to do.

Ouch, but it's probably realistic and I was being unrealistic thinking I could get it into the $300 range. But...$540 is about $210 to rich for my blood. I'm happy for ya Malloy...HAVE FUN!

Why dont you go on a lease, or look for cars in the rx8 for sale threads? I bought my rex from this forum, perfect condition, 4000 miles, GT, manual, VR, everything but Nav, for 23K.

Yeah, that will always do it to you...I understand.

Stop rubbing it in Malloy....LOL, just messing...

I tried going the lease way but the first number they came back to me with was $699 per month...when I picked up my jaw from the ground, they came back telling me $400 was more realistic.

They just sent me a letter telling me that from now till 7-4-05 they will give me "employee pricing on the RX8...includeing any rebates. I think they feel bad cause they brought me out there TWICE to then tell me they couldl not come up with a deal for me.

Note: They said this is an unadvertised deal and I was selected since I already showed interest before. Is this all B with some S? Maybe...maybe it's dealership propaganda...but we shall see

IF this is not a scam!
IF its better than S-Plan!

THEN we will see what deal can be made but this time I aint going over there until they send me in writing (via email is OK) the deal before I go and waste gas again.

We shall see...

Sounds like the "employee pricing" is the S-plan. Can someone here look up the S-plan price for the options you want? Then you would already know their offer before they try to give you more BS.

I already did...I have a printout of the S-Plan pricing per car, per option...but it's at home, I"ll scan it and let you know.

Update: I ment employee priceing + any rebates

The thing is, if it was just S-Plan it would not make sense on why they would email me about this deal. Why, cause the dealer I went to is WELL aware that I have the S-Plan priceing. So, why would they offer me something that did not save me more than the S-Plan...it just does not make sense.

Well, I emailed them back and asked specifically for a written offer and an explanation on the S-Plan vs Employee price. Waiting...

Just to add something else, I think the guy at the dealership thought I was a dummy or he could cheat me. $699 per month for a RX8 on a 4 year lease is CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!! The car is not a BMW...heck, that comes out to $33,600 which is more than the cars total price and as far as I understand a leases...you are supposed to pay a part of the value of the car while you are leasing not the entire price.

Keep in mind that I had my car to trade in, S-Plan, AND the $1,000-1,500 rebate so the price of the car (let's take $30,000 as the starting point) would not have been ANYWHERE NEAR the $33,600 the lease was calling for.

I think this guy was a BIG LIER...no way to say that nicely, and the salesman stood there taking in the guys BS...loseing a sale in the process.

They had a sports package 6spd RX8 and let's take the $26,500 price point they quoted me before (another day I left out of there disapointed). Let's say, I was to pay for half of the RX8 in 3 years...

$13,250 / 36 payments = $368 (give or take some)

But, let's add my car as a trade in and bring it down to $12,500 = $347

So, I ask...what crack was this guy smokeing giving me a price of $699

Maybe I'm all wrong about this, but please explain to me why so I dont' act the fool...LOL

Malloy....look at the latest offer from the dealer:

IF you went the red sport package (6spd & spare tire also) RX-8 with the CD changer and you leased for 48 monhts and put $2300 down your payment will be$339 a month, on a 36 month lease your payment will be $379 a month and if you were to retail this car it will be $475 a month. I truly hope that one of these plans will work for you. They are all subject to final approval from Mazda. Please let me know if you would like to stop in and finalize the details.

SPlan is not always the best deal. Look at some of the Big 3 incentives going on right now...there is no need for an SPlan as their starting prices are below employee plan deals.

I do know that you get 4500 off on RX8 leases, and by year end it may get even better. Why rush? Im sure some dealers will have 04 leftovers in Feb 05, so the longer wait may get you into an unreal deal. My friend bought an 03 leftover C5 Vette in March 04, for 7500 under sticker. Anything is possible, just dont bet on anything

For me, I got just about the best deal possible. Getting a 33,100 car for under 25k was pretty good, and add on top of that a dealership who took an extremely unattractive trade to boot. Plus, they gave me a short 30month lease with only aa grand down. With my negative equity situation, I did ok.
