Question To Lease or Finance..?

hey everyone..i'm a newb here..real excited about joining this cool new community of RX-8 fans. i just read the threads above and i have to say i am shocked. i never imagined you could get a lease on the 8 for $300 or less a month with only $1500-2000 down. that's awesome!!!! i was really depressed cuz i have my heart set on getting the 8 but i thought there was no way in hell i could afford it. i went to a couple of dealers and even went online just to get an idea, and i came up with $460-580 a month. i live in nj and insurance is gonna be expensive as hell as is, could this really be true??? could i find an 8 for $300 a mo?? what's better leasing or financing? i want to keep the car but i feel that if i finance it's gonna be too expensive. but if i lease, i would buy the car at the end anyway.cuz if that's the case i'm trading my car in tomorrow!!!! thanks in advance for your opinions and advice.

Next time post in the RX8 discussion purchase/finance. This spot is for pics/multimedia. :p There is more information on there than I can cover in this post as well.

If you are going to buy the car after the lease expires and you have a trade, might as well by an 2004 RX8 out right. One with good options can be had for about $25k. Let's say you have to finance $25k at 6 years with a 6.5% interest rate, you'd be paying $420.25 but it should be less if you include the trade and have a down payment.

Those good lease numbers might throw people off because the average here is paying between $380 - $500 depending on contract details, down, etc. There are only a few that are paying around $300.

Also how many miles a year do your drive and do you like to MOD your car?

Drive over 12,000 miles a year and a lease is bad.
Any MODS to a lease car will either have to be removed upon return or given back with no reimbursement.

i'm not into all the fancy stuff...(navi, leather..etc) i mean it's all nice but i just love the performance, comfort, and style..as is looks beautiful!! of coarse i want the snow pearl white color. i think i might drive over 12,000 miles a year but not that far off. i'm not gonna MOD anything on the car. ultimately i want to keep it. i plan on having $6000 down for the car..if i finance how much are we talking monthly payments

payments

your payments should be right around 400 a month if you find one for 24,500. which should be fairly easy.

i like how the dealers get you w/the "packages" see i want the moonroof-gotta have it, and the hid/xeon lights. in order for me to have those i got to get one of the packages which is more$$ and another thing, it's so hard to find snow pearl color. one last question is there a major difference between the 2004 and 2005 rx-8? which one am i better of buying straight out? thanks again guys.

If you you don't mind having the standard key (i.e. separate key and alarm fob) and the lack of sirius sat radio, then the 2004 is the way to go (esp with all the cash back incentives).

Unless of course you're set on the white color...........

If you are using this not as a daily driver, 12000 miles isn't too bad. But for someone that uses it as their main primary driver, it will be a problem. 12000 miles isn't that much, trust me.

If you can afford the car, just buy it. White rocks.
