I got an 2004 rx8 for 17,999 from a dealer with 21,000 miles its the base auto with navi. It had 19 inch rims and has k&n intake greddy catback exhaust, and obx headers...I dont know **** about mazdas...I WAS A HONDA GUY(STILL GOT THE S2000)...this car is really fun to drive but i hear about the poor gas milege..and high maintenence..can anyone give me some insight into the car..recalls, gas savers,oil coolers, base auto horspower adders and just anything i should know about...I WANNA KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS SUPERCAR...

 

There isn't much you can do about the mileage. Expect around 15 mpg. And as far as I know, unless you go FI, you won't be able to add any meaningful HP. Good luck with the car.

At the risk of sounding redundant, the "search" function will answer most of your questions and many more you wouldn't have thought to ask. There's a wealth of information here,you just gotta do a little digging. WARNING: Failure to use the search function for topics that have been "discussed to death"(i.e. gas milage,oil usage,adding hp, etc...) may result in serious flamage.

 

Never quite figured out why people go buy a car and don't research the car to begin with. Good way to get taken advantage of I guess.

Bad gas mileage as mention, not much that can be done the car runs rich.

You pretty much have the "base" HP adders, maybe add in a test pipe if you can get around emissions standards in your area.
