Insurance...how much?
Ok first time post for me, just found a 04 rx-8, now i was just wondering how much do you guys think my insurance would cost. I know it will be high because im only 19 but this is the only thing holding me back from getting it. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and got a clean driving record. thanks.

There are web based insurance quote services available you should use. (check to make sure they're legit)
Oh, welcome to the forum. Good luck with the shopping around.

Hey I'm 18 with one speeding ticket and I'm paying $2000 a year. That's the cheapest price I could get. That's with full coverage. 19 you're gonna be looking at that or maybe a little more. idk

Shop, shop, shop. Some may not quote w/out an older person on the policy, can you use a parent? I'd get a quote directly from Progressive as opposed to going through an agent, they get a commission on your premium. GEICO and Ameriprise (formerly AMEX) are direct too. Amica, State Farm and The Hartford have agents but I've seen some pretty decent rates.
If you go direct DO NOT get the the state's minimum requirements - at least have 100,300,100 for bodily injury/property damage. I reccommend 250/500/100 or 300 combined single limit, if available. Good grades and proof of driver training will help too -

I kept my insurance agent I have had since I was 16. 21 now and they were able to help me alot with my insurance. I have a decent driving record, no accidents, female, and like I said 21, my insurance is a little under $1800 a year. It was gonna be a lil higher but my agent helped me out like I said. So I would suggest talking with yours and seeing what they can do to help ya out. Oh and I bought mine brand new 2007, I do not know if that makes a difference on ins. price.
