Boy oh boy that's a question with a thousand different answers. How about checking out some rates for free

http://www.progressive.com/shop/shop.asp you can get email quotes for free and compare them against other companies, or you can call 800-PROGRESSIVE

or

http://www.geico.com/

Good luck! You're gonna love this car!!

Don't have the car myself but I'm also 16 and when I checked it's about 200/month through Geico.

Alot of these guys live in the northeast, and insurance is more expensive than their house payment. But insurance should be alot less expensive in LA, like in TX. But since you are 17, it is still going to be real expensive. $200/month is probably close assuming you have a clean driving record. I pay about $745/year but I am over 25.

Less than a 2001 540i 6-speed, less than a 2005 Legacy GT, but more than my current '93 Integra. It all depends on age, your driving history, location - too many variables.

Im 19 and drive a mustang...it costs me about 160 a month for full coverage and i have no wrecks or tickets. This is also through USAA (military insurance) and ive looked into progressive and geico and the general consensus for me at least tends to be about 160-200 dollars for an 8. Hopefully ill be buying my 6spd Blue Sport Package 8 in october if all goes well. I live in florida BTW

Has anyone researched insurance companies recently and found one to offer a significantly better bargain?

Thanx,

Just go get a quote through progressive, and that is not always accurate. I'm 22 and I was quoted at 218 a month, not bad, but I won't be living in the area I'm at now and I'll almost be 24 once I get the car so it might be cheaper then.

I'm 25 and I live in New York and I pay $140 a month for my RX-8. Perfect driving record. I did not take the Driver Safety Course yet. Which will lower it another 15-20%

i used to use progessive they were the best when i was younger. now I'm using unitrin. they quoted me a full year of coverage for less than a 6 month premium with progessive. and they have full auto glass and rental and towing provided for free. cost is about $1200 / year for 100k/100k stacked uninsured and $500 deductible.

but get this.. my 2001 civic hx is 1499 a year... whatever. it'll be paid for in 2 more months.

Gap insurance is only another couple bucks a month, if that. I wouldn't have insurance without gap. But anyhow, I pay 850 a year for 100k/300k and I have one speeding tickett, and I'm 26. I have a 500 dollar deductable and really good coverage, plus GAP.

Full coverage... ~$700/year.

I did call around to about 4 carriers, and went with the cheapest one. For my RX8 and my wife's 94 Camry.. we're paying about $900/year total (her car only has liability).

Hey man if you plan on getting this car, plan on working to drive because I'm 17 too and with all my deductions which are driver safety course, driven for one year with no tickets or wrecks, and honor roll in school discount, I'm paying $4800 a year for this car lol. That's for full coverage but I'm also not on my parent's plan because with this car they know I'm gonna be gettin in trouble and they don't wanna be liable. so this isn't to discourage you or anything because it is a nice car but insurance is a bitch....not to mention gas!! lol

I went from 1695 a year to 2200 a year when i traded up from an '00 protege to '04 rx8. 22 years old - license for 3 years, no accidents/tickets on the record.... I just got a second beater car for my wife, and with out comp or collision on it (500 deductible on a 1000 dollar car makes the extra 300 a year not worthwhile) only brought my total insurance up to around 2250 a year. Gotta love second car discounts.
