Insurance?

i am looking to buy a 2004 or 2005 RX-8. my car was recently totalled and i've been wanting an 8 for quite some time. however, i have a DUI (1A) on my record and am wondering if i will be able to afford insurance AND a car payment on an 8. anyone know how much insurance is on 8's?

i'm 39...have a clean driving record...have a few "extras" on my insurance (100/300 bi limits, gap insurance, towing, rental car) and mine is $800/year...

i work for an insurance company...best way to find-out is to call or go online and get some quotes...

Well, I'm 24, male, clean driving record, and mine is about 180 a month, decent coverage, etc.

That DUI is going to cost you no matter what you drive, so you're gonna have to just call to find out.

Insurance questions on here are pointless. Rates greatly depend on location, driving record, etc. Go to progressive.com get a quote and he quote of their competitors. It's a good place to start. It's how I ended up with Travellers.

remember if you're doing car payments you need to have full comprehensive insurance with the deductibles as the lender requires...

also, asking for prices on insurance is like comparing apple to oranges.. look at this thread, people with the same characteristics are paying totally different amount because of their demographics.. this is where you park your car, where you live, what you use your car for, work, student, age, sex, marital status, credit, theft rates on the rx8 in your area, and MANY more.. so whatever is quoted here i would take with a grain of salt if i were you..

the company i found it through was AIG. that price included having a DUI on my record as well, but i am 26 so insurance isn't quite as high as it would be for a 19 year old. but you could still check it out.
