Hey guys, Noob needs help with RX8 Descision!!

Hey fellow Rx8 Owners,

i was wondering if you can help share some of your experiences and opinions that can help me make a final descision if i should buy this RX8 i was looking at or look for something diffrent.

i am torn in the middle because i have heard gret reviews and bad reviews,

and i researched as much as i can about the rx8, i know its a great car, eats ALOT of gas and premium doesn't help since its almost 5 dollars here in San Diego, and i know it burns oil

NOW i just wanted to know that should i make this purchase and what to expect financially down the years.

I am currently talking with the owner of a '04 GT Rx8, he was selling for $15K and i dealt him down to settling for $12K

is this a good deal and is the RX8 gonna be a good investment ?

any help will be appriciated guys thank you!!

12k doesn't sound bad, but you're not posting enough details:

mileage?
auto or manual?
have all recalls / flashes been done?

those are important things we (and you!) need to know. and the oil-burning thing is overrated. people blow that out of proportion like it's 2 quarts per tank or something.

its a 2004 Automatic Winning Blue Sport Package

with 51,832 original miles on the original engine, and i'm going to find out if the seller did the recalls or not.

EDIT* All the recalls are done and the engine flooded once and was de flooded

Dude...it's an auto.

Do some research here, see if you will be satisfied with the performance. Many here are very happy with them and then there are many who would not ever dream of owning one. There are some FI possibilities with them...but, just be informed.

Personally, I would wait and get an '05-'08 6sp MT, but thats me and I've owned an '04 from the beginning, so what do I know.

Good luck
